As the busyness of life swirls around you, it’s easy to get sucked into a mundane routine. In ‘Made of Stars,’ the analog collage series, I work to pull you back to the incredible beauty of our existence. I start by splashing paint and collecting images. Then I alter each piece and intuitively arrange. Once the clippings find their perfect coordinates on the page, they’re glued by hand as I sway to my beloved classic rock playlist. This collection reminds us that there’s magic around every corner when you seek to find it.
What is your “Dreamland” ?
Oh how I love this theme. Dreamland, my wild, is where I create from. It’s where I’ve always created from.
When my reality is too overwhelming to take, my Dreamland is where I go.
It’s when it’s dark and the rest of the house sleeps. It’s my paper, all of my clippings, my music and everything else falls away.
Every single bit of ‘Made of Stars’ was created there.
In peace, in quiet — far, far away.
Thank you so much for this opportunity to share!
