Every artist has a space where their ideas are born. A corner of a room where sunlight falls just right. A table covered with tools, scraps, and half-finished sketches. A studio that smells of paint, clay, or ink, or a quiet desk where thoughts slowly turn into something tangible. These spaces hold stories they witness the first sparks of inspiration, the long hours of struggle, the moments of doubt, and the breakthroughs that make it all worthwhile.

Now, Studio Visit Book Vol. 7 invites you to share that space with the world. This internationally recognized publication has, since 2023, taken readers inside the studios of over 500 contemporary artists, from painters and sculptors to photographers, filmmakers, performance artists, and more. It’s not just a book it’s a celebration of the environments that shape creativity, a platform where your process, your journey, and your story matter just as much as your finished works.

The Theme: Home

For Volume 7, the theme is “Home”. Simple, yet deeply layered. Home is not always a building or a room; sometimes it is a feeling, a rhythm, a sanctuary, or a challenge that pushes you to create. It is the place or the atmosphere where your imagination finds its footing, where ideas emerge, evolve, and finally take form.

Perhaps Home is the small desk by the window where you’ve spent countless nights sketching, writing, or editing. Perhaps it’s a studio with paint-splattered floors, jars of brushes, and canvases leaning against every wall. Maybe it’s the hum of a computer in a dark room late at night, or the echo of footsteps in an empty rehearsal space. For some, Home is familiar and comforting; for others, it’s restless, chaotic, or even uncomfortable but always essential for creation.

In art, Home can be the invisible thread connecting every brushstroke, every sculpture, every photograph, every dance move, and every film frame to the life of the artist. It is in the rituals of making the sharpening of pencils, the mixing of colours, the clearing of space before beginning. It is in the way an artist carries their memories, emotions, and culture into their work.

Volume 7 asks you to reflect: how does your personal Home influence your art? How does your environment shape the stories you tell? What does your studio, your creative corner, or your sacred space look like to the world? This is your chance to translate the essence of your Home into work that speaks to a global audience.

Where Does Your Studio Become Home?

Art does not exist in isolation. Every canvas, sculpture, photograph, film, and performance emerges from a lived experience, a space, a practice that nurtures it. The Studio Visit Book is not only about celebrating finished works it’s about honouring the creative process, but the environment also that shapes it, and the artist who brings it to life. Think of the half-finished canvas leaning against a wall, the flicker of light across your workspace, the quiet pause before a dancer begins a movement, or the smell of fresh ink on a print. These are not just backgrounds they are integral to your art. By sharing your Home, you are inviting the world into the intimate moments where creation happens.

Ask yourself: Where does your creativity live? What walls, objects, or rituals have witnessed your art take shape? How do you feel when you are in your creative space? What does Home mean to you, and how does it breathe life into your work?

Deadline: November 13, 2025. Don’t let your story remain unseen. Take this chance to open your doors, share your Home, and let your work be celebrated across the world. Because Home isn’t just where we live it’s where our art begins.
