Submissions Now Open For 101 Art Book: Photography Edition

What if the photographs you’ve taken the ones that caught your breath as you pressed the shutter, the ones you kept returning to because they held something unexplainable, the ones that felt like small pieces of who you are could travel farther than you ever expected? What if the quiet, intimate, deeply personal way you see the world could step out of your hard drive, out of your drawers, out of the folder marked “later”, and into a beautifully designed hardcover book that is held, cherished, and revisited by people across continents?

After eight successful editions exploring themes like Abstract Floral, Landscape, Animals, and more, Arts to Hearts Project is thrilled to announce the 9th edition of the 101 Art Book and this time, the theme is powerful, evocative, and profoundly rooted in the art of photography, a celebration of seeing and storytelling through the lens.

Imagine this for a moment, someone you have never met, perhaps a curator in London, a photography student in Tokyo, a collector in Toronto, a gallery owner in Cape Town, turning the pages of this book slowly, thoughtfully, and then stopping at your photograph. Maybe it’s the texture of light. Maybe it’s the composition. Maybe it’s the emotion you captured without even meaning to. Whatever it is, something about your image resonates with them, stays with them, sparks a question, a memory, a feeling they didn’t expect to find that day.

This is what 101 Art Book: Photography Edition is offering, to give your work the chance to reach people far beyond your immediate circle, your local community, or your social media feed. To create a space where your photographs can breathe, be held in someone’s hands, be part of a larger conversation about what it means to see, to document, to witness, to create.

How the 101 Art Book Project Began?

When the Arts to Hearts Project launched the very first 101 Art Book in 2023, it was built on a question many artists quietly carry: Where can my work truly belong? Not just online, where it disappears in seconds. Not just in our studios, where it waits for someone to see it.
But in a place that honours it, preserves it, and situates it within a broader artistic landscape. What began as a single, hopeful experiment has now become a living, growing archive a series of thoughtfully curated hardcover books showcasing artists from around the globe.
With over 800 artists featured across previous editions, the 101 Art Book Project has become a steady and meaningful tradition, one that continues to expand in scale, reputation, and community impact.

Each edition explores one theme, Animals, Landscapes, Portraits, Collage, Food, Florals, Abstract and brings together 101 artists who interpret that theme through their own visual language. And now, we turn our lens toward a medium that has shaped contemporary culture in profound ways.

Why Photography Deserves Its Own Edition

Photography is so often misunderstood as simply “taking a picture.” But you and I both know it’s so much more intimate than that. It allows us to freeze a moment that may never come again. It gives us permission to notice, to feel, to capture what most people move past too quickly to see. A camera can become a tool of truth or a doorway to imagination. It can record reality or transform it. It can honour the everyday, the soft light on a kitchen counter, the gesture of a hand, the way shadows stretch at dusk, or it can build a completely new world, shaped by thought, emotion, memory, or dream.

The Photography Edition welcomes photographers of all backgrounds, all styles, and all creative approaches to come forward and share the way they see.
Whether your practice leans toward:

  • documentary storytelling,
  • fine art minimalism,
  • portraiture and human connection,
  • street photography and fleeting moments,
  • abstract and experimental approaches,
  • conceptual work that challenges what a photograph can be,
  • or mixed media that redefines the boundaries of the medium —

you are welcome here.

Because this edition isn’t about one style, one genre, or one kind of image. It’s about the diversity of vision photography can hold. It’s about the stories waiting behind each frame.

Who Can Apply?

We want this edition to be a true reflection of the photographic world today — wide, varied, alive.
So the open call is extended to:

  • All photographers aged 18+
  • All countries and cultural backgrounds
  • All styles, mediums, and creative practices
  • Every stage of the artistic journey, from emerging photographers building their voice to established artists refining their legacy

Each artist can submit multiple photographs, and if selected, one image will be featured to create an equal, balanced, and intentional curation of 101 voices. Your work does not need to be new. It just needs to be yours honest, intentional, and reflective of your vision.

Why You Should Submit

There are moments in an artist’s life when visibility becomes more than a desire it becomes a necessity. When you feel ready for your work to step out into the world. When you want to connect with others who understand your vision. When you’re searching for your next step, your next opportunity, your next breakthrough.

The 101 Art Book: Photography Edition offers a moment like that. Not fleeting. Not rushed. Not dependent on trends or algorithms. But rooted, permanent, deliberate a place where your work can live. Imagine someone flipping through the book years from now and pausing at your image because it reminds them of a memory they carry, a feeling they once had, or a moment they never want to forget. This is the power of photography, the ability to travel through time, emotion, and experience. And this open call is your chance to let your work do just that.

Are You Ready to Share the Way You See the World?

You’ve taken photographs that carry pieces of your life images you created not because someone asked you to, but because something in you responded when you lifted the camera, whether it was your first phone camera years ago or the one you’ve grown into with time, instinct, and countless quiet moments of learning. Some of your best photographs probably happened in ordinary moments, moments when you weren’t trying to impress anyone, when you were simply paying attention, following a feeling, trusting your eye before you even realized that was what you were doing and those images stayed with you long after you captured them, asking softly for a place where they could exist beyond your private folders and late-night edits.

Art isn’t meant to live tucked away inside devices or wait endlessly for the “perfect” moment to be shared; it’s meant to breathe out in the world, to be witnessed by people who might see something in it that you didn’t expect, to challenge how someone understands a moment, to soften a heart that needed gentleness, to remind someone of a memory they’d forgotten, or to illuminate a feeling they’ve never been able to name aloud. Your photographs the ones shaped by your curiosity, your patience, your lived experience deserve that chance. This opportunity is an invitation to take one of those images, the ones that mean something to you, and let it step into a carefully crafted book where it will be treated with intention, thoughtfulness, and respect, a book that will travel into the hands of people you may never meet but who might feel something powerful because of what you saw in that split second.

Let your work move outward, let it reach someone across the world who connects with the way you see, someone who feels understood through your composition, your light, your timing, your story. Let it become part of a creative legacy that honours the unique perspective you’ve developed over years of picking up your camera, missing shots, capturing magic, learning how to see beyond the obvious, and trusting that the moments you choose to frame mean something. This edition is ready to welcome you, exactly as you are, no matter where you are in your journey, no matter the camera you began with, no matter how quietly your photographs have lived until now.
