In our Studio Visit Book Vol.1, you will find more than artists’ interviews. Here, we have featured 35 artists with divers backgrounds that take us through their studios and show us what it’s like to be in their working space. Explore the role of physical and mental space in these artists’ creative process let your own creativity fly.

For the first volume of our Studio Visit Book, we have the lovely Melissa Jander as our cover artist. Her painting “Sunny Days” brings the sunshine to our book that we all appreciate very much.

About Melissa

Melissa Jander is an accomplished artist known for her expressive oil
paintings. She has a diverse educational background in technical
drawing, architecture, graphic design, and foreign language and
literature. Melissa has also received art instruction from art
institutions such as the Loveland Academy of Fine Art and the Gage
Academy, and the Art Institute of Seattle. Various organizations, including Women Artists of the West, The American Impressionist Society, and Oil Painters of America, have recognized her work. In 2018, Melissa was chosen by the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival to create the official 35th anniversary poster. She seeks to stir emotions through
shape, color, and expressive brushwork. Her muses are the natural
beauty of the Pacific Northwest, often drawing inspiration from rugged
coastlines and blooming flora. Her art is influenced by artists such as
Pierre Bonnard, Berthe Morisot, and Paul Cezanne, as well as
contemporary artists like Anne Redpath and Winifred Nicholson. Melissa values the freedom and joy of creating art that expresses emotions, and she enjoys sharing this passion with others.
