A Studio Can Be Anywhere You Create! Theme: Home | Studio Visit Book Vol. 7

Every artist has a place where the world fades and creation begin. A space where ideas stretch, breathe, and take their first steps into being. Since our launch in 2023, Studio Visit Book has taken readers behind the scenes of over 500 artists beyond the artwork and into the spaces where creativity lives. We’ve visited studios painted with sunlight, worktables covered in colour, and quiet rooms filled with sketches, half-finished canvases, and the hum of imagination. Each space tells its own story. And for Volume 7, we’re turning our lens toward that very world the place artists return to again and again: Home.
Art Can Live Anywhere You Create
When we say “Home,” we do not mean a house. We do not mean the address you sleep at or the city printed on your ID. We mean the place where you create. Where your hands move and your thoughts ignite. Where your imagination feels safe enough to stretch its wings.
Maybe your Home is:
- A kitchen table stained with paint and coffee rings
- A tiny desk squeezed beside a bed
- A folding easel in the garden
- A garage humming with tools and music
- A canvas propped against a brick wall in your living room
- A tent under a forest canopy when inspiration calls you outdoors
- A laptop traveling from cafe to cafe
- A shared art room, a rented corner, or a generous friend’s spare space
- A suitcase studio as you move through the world

Because for artists, Home is not defined by square feet or polished walls it’s defined by presence. It’s that moment when you sit down to create, and the world narrows to your canvas, your clay, your camera, your thought. It’s the sound of your tools, the smell of your materials, the feeling that this right here is your place in the world.
Every mark, every motion, every masterpiece begins there in the honest, lived-in mess of creation. And that’s what Studio Visit Book Vol. 7 is here to celebrate.
Why We Chose the Theme “Home”
For this volume, we’re inviting artists from all over the world to open the doors to their studios whether that studio is permanent, portable, or purely imagined. We want to see where your art begins and understand how your environment shapes your process.
No studio is too small, too messy, or too unconventional. Whether your Home is a converted garage, a tent in the wilderness, or a borrowed table in the living room, it carries the energy of your journey your resilience, your rhythm, your truth. Maybe it’s where you’ve wrestled with doubt or found clarity in silence. Or maybe it’s where you keep returning, not because it’s perfect, but because it’s yours.

Home is where creation feels most human surrounded by everyday life, by the noise, the quiet, the routine, and the unexpected. It’s where artists build worlds out of fragments, where discipline meets chaos, and where something magical happens in between.
Through Home, we want to celebrate the courage it takes to create not in perfect spaces, but in real ones. Because every brushstroke, every photograph, every sculpture begins somewhere and that somewhere matters.

Let Your Studio Tell Its Story
For Studio Visit Book Vol. 7, we’re not just documenting art, we’re documenting life as it unfolds inside creative spaces.
Whether you work on the floor, on a ladder, in the woods, or on a kitchen chair… Whether your tools fit in a drawer or fill a warehouse… Whether your studio is permanent or borrowed, loud or quiet, wild or refined. It is yours. And it is enough. And it deserves to be seen

So, show us your table, your corner, your canvas, your light. Show us Home, the place where your art begins, and where your heart always returns.
