Last Call: Only 72 Hours Left to Submit to Art and Woman Edition 4

If Art and Woman: Edition 4 has been sitting in your saved posts, open tabs, or that mental list of “things I’ll apply to later,” this is your sign to stop waiting.

There are now just 72 hours left to submit.

Arts to Hearts Project is closing submissions for the fourth edition of Art and Woman on August 30, 2026, at 11:59 PM EST. And if you have been looking for an opportunity to have your work published internationally, this is your last call.

The best part? You do not need to make new work for this open call. There is no fixed theme. Instead, Edition 4 invites women and womxn artists to submit work that already feels meaningful to their practice, work that reflects their perspective, experiences, ideas, memories, or simply the way they see the world.

So, if you already have a few pieces in your studio that you love, you may be much closer to an application than you think.

What Is Art and Woman Edition 4?

Art and Woman is a publishing series by Arts to Hearts Project created to celebrate the creativity, perspectives, and lived experiences of women and womxn artists from around the world.

The series is not simply about putting images of art into a book. It is built around the artists behind those images, their stories, experiences, creative practices, and individual voices.

Since its launch in 2024, the first three editions have featured more than 300 women artists from different countries, backgrounds, and stages of their careers. Edition 4 continues that growing archive, bringing together another group of artists whose work reflects the diversity of contemporary art.

For this edition, the Guest Curator is Liz Lidgett, an art advisor, gallery owner, author, and advocate for making art more accessible. Her experience working with contemporary artists and collectors brings another exciting perspective to the selection process.

And with only three days left, there is no reason to overthink whether your work “fits.” There is no particular visual style you need to follow. There is no subject you have to force your work into. The call is intentionally open.

An Open Theme Means Your Work Can Be Yours

One of the things we love about this opportunity is how open the theme is. There is no requirement to create work around a particular concept. Instead, artists are encouraged to submit existing pieces that genuinely represent their practice and personal voice.

Your work might explore identity, memory, family, culture, motherhood, relationships, belonging, transformation, resilience, healing, loss, joy, or something much quieter and more difficult to put into words. It could also simply be a work that represents an important moment in your artistic journey.

It can be realistic or abstract, symbolic or experimental, intimate or conceptual. The point is not to make your work fit a trend. It is to submit work that feels like you.

That makes this a particularly good last-minute open call because you are not spending the next three days trying to create something that answers a theme. Instead, you can look through the work you have already made and ask yourself: Which pieces best represent my practice right now?

Those may be the pieces worth submitting.

Who Can Apply?

The open call is open to women and non-binary artists worldwide.

Artists from any nationality, culture, and career stage can apply, so you do not need to be an established artist with a long exhibition history to be considered. Emerging artists, mid-career artists, and established artists are all welcome.

You must be 18 years or older, and submitted artworks must be original. Collaborative works are also eligible as long as the submitting artist identifies as a woman or womxn and has permission from the collaborators.

The call welcomes a broad range of visual art practices, including:

• Painting
• Drawing
• Photography
• Sculpture
• Ceramics
• Textile art
• Mixed media
• Digital art
• Illustration
• Installation
• Experimental practices

There are no restrictions on style or subject matter.

In other words, you do not have to be a painter to apply, and you do not have to make traditionally “feminine” work simply because the publication is called Art and Woman. The whole point is to make room for the many different ways women and womxn artists create and tell stories.

How Many Artworks Can You Submit?

You can submit between 1 and 20 artworks, depending on the submission package you choose.

With only 72 hours left, do not feel pressured to submit the maximum number simply because you can. More is not automatically better.

Instead, think about the work you want a curator to encounter first. Which pieces demonstrate your strongest ideas? Which ones feel connected to your practice? Which works would make someone want to know more about the artist behind them?

If you have twenty excellent pieces that represent different parts of your practice, wonderful. If you have three pieces that you feel strongly about, start there.

The goal is to make a thoughtful submission rather than a rushed one.

What Do Selected Artists Receive?

Being selected for Art and Woman: Edition 4 goes beyond having your work appear in a publication.

Selected artists will be included in the fourth edition of the book, which will be distributed internationally through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the Arts to Hearts Project Shop.

Selected artists will also receive an Official Certificate of Publication & Recognition, written remarks from Guest Curator Liz Lidgett and the jury about their selected work, and editorial promotion through Arts to Hearts Project’s website, newsletter, and social media platforms.

There are also additional awards.

The Top Winner will receive a $500 cash award, a four-page editorial feature in Art & Woman: Edition 4, a professionally written interview published on the Arts to Hearts Project website, an engraved crystal trophy, and dedicated editorial and digital promotion.

The First and Second Runner Ups will also receive publication, editorial recognition, trophies, and promotional opportunities.

And there is something worth remembering for every artist who applies: even if you are not selected for publication, every participant receives an Official Certificate of Participation recognizing their contribution to the international juried open call.

How to Apply

The application itself is online, so you can get everything together from wherever you are.

Start by going through your existing work. Since this is an open-theme call, you do not need to make something new. Give yourself some time to look at your recent work as a collection rather than choosing the first few images sitting on your desktop.

Then select the pieces you want to submit and make sure the images are clear and ready for review.

You will need to provide your artist information and artwork details as part of the application, and you will need to complete the applicable submission payment before the deadline. The application page provides the available submission packages and payment options.

Before submitting, take a final few minutes to check everything. Is your artist name spelled correctly? Are your artwork titles correct? Are your images the right files? Have you written your information clearly? Have you completed the payment?

And most importantly: have you actually clicked submit?

It sounds obvious, but when applications are completed at the last minute, it is surprisingly easy to finish ninety percent of the form and forget the final step.

You Have Three Days. Use Them.

Three days is not a lot of time, but it is enough.

You do not need to turn this into a giant project. You do not need to spend hours wondering whether your work is “good enough.” And you definitely do not need to make an entirely new body of work just because an opportunity has appeared.

Open the folder where you keep your artwork. Look through the pieces you have already made. Choose the ones that still make you stop for a moment.

Read through the application requirements carefully. Prepare your images and information. Fill out the form. Check it once. Then submit.

The deadline is August 30, 2026, at 11:59 PM EST, and all artwork, artist information, and submission payments must be completed by that time.

If Art and Woman has been on your list for weeks, this is your last reminder. If you have been waiting for the “right” artwork, perhaps it is already sitting in your studio. If you have been telling yourself you will apply when you have more time, you now have 72 hours.

Your work can speak for itself. Your experiences can be different from everyone else’s. Your practice does not have to look like anyone else’s. That is exactly why a collection of women artists can be so powerful in the first place. We cannot wait to see what you submit.
