Kati Lowe is an artist. Nature plays a huge part as my inspiration. It is the small details that I see that stop me dead in my tracks, whether it be veins in a leaf or the way the sunlight shines through trees. I create intimate spaces, like a window, that capture these brief moments I encounter.
I use layering as a tool for movement so the viewer can investigate and piece together each layer that I dissected.
How does the theme ‘Biosphere’ play a role in your work?
Symbiotic relationships surface in my work. I see the theme ‘Biosphere’ the same way I find inspiration in my work. In my personal life, I set aside time spent in nature. I see the symbiotic relationship between myself and nature as a way to reset my mental acuity and regain energy. I see how these relationships interact with each other and keep a cycle.
