This award exists to honour that courage Art is not only what we see it is what we remember, what we resist, what we dream. Across cultures and continents, women have always used their voices, their hands, and their visions to carve space in history, often against silence, often against erasure
When we first launched the fifth edition of women artist award, we knew it mattered but we could never have imagined how deeply powerful the response would be. What has come in so far is not just art it’s voices, stories, and truths being shared. These works carry courage, memory, and vision. They show women taking up space on the canvas, the page, the screen, and saying:
This is my place, this is my story, this is my art
From intimate portraits to daring experiments, from traditions carried forward to boundaries being pushed, the diversity is breathtaking. Each submission is a reminder that this call is not only about gathering artwork it’s about witnessing change. Women artists are no longer waiting for permission. They are reshaping the room they were once only invited into. And what we’ve seen so far proves something important: when women share their visions, the art world expands. It grows richer, bolder, and stronger. But this is just the beginning. What’s here now is the foundation of something that will only keep building, and your voice your vision can still be a part of it.
Why This Award Matters
Since its founding in 2023, the Award has published the work of more than 200 women artists worldwide in the acclaimed Women Artists on the Rise books collections that have travelled into homes, studios, and libraries, carrying with them the names and works of those once unseen.
To date, more than USD 10,000 in prizes and support has been distributed to winners, reflecting a commitment not just to recognition but to investment in long-term artistic practices. But beyond the numbers, what truly matters is visibility. A platform that ensures women’s stories are heard, their works are seen, and their legacies are written into the larger narrative of contemporary art.
Theme
Woman Artist Award is about freedom. Freedom to create without borders, without limitations, without someone else defining what “matters.” That is why this edition embraces an open theme to let artists submit what speaks most to their vision. Whether through painting, sculpture, photography, installation, performance, textiles, or digital practices, the Award exists to hold space for every voice and every medium.
Because no single theme could contain the breadth of women’s creativity. The open call is an invitation: to show us what matters most to you, to share what your practice carries right now, to bring your truest vision forward without restriction.

Please note: These are submissions only and do not represent the final selection. The jury will determine the selected artworks after the submission deadline has closed.
Who Can Submit
The Woman Artist Award – Fifth Edition is open to all women artists worldwide, aged 18 and above. There are no geographical restrictions. All fields of contemporary art are welcome.
