The Arts To Hearts Project is excited to open submissions for the 101 Art Book: Photography Edition, inviting artists from around the world to share the moments, perspectives, and visions that move them. This is an open call for photographers who pay attention, who linger a little longer, and who find meaning in the everyday as much as in the extraordinary.
This edition will bring together 101 artists in a beautifully crafted hardcover book, created to be held, revisited, and lived with. It will travel far and wide, finding its way into the hands of collectors, galleries, curators, and art lovers who value photography not just as an image, but as a way of seeing.
Photography sometimes catches a fleeting gesture, or a corner of the world most of us overlook. This edition is for the artists who notice the kind of details most people miss because they are rushing through their days. It’s for those who understand that photography is not just about capturing what exists, but about noticing what matters, and holding onto it long enough to share.
Ultimately, this is a chance to contribute something that lasts. The photographs you submit will move beyond your studio or camera roll, traveling across continents and cultures, reaching people you may never meet but who will recognize something familiar in your work.
They will land in hands that study them slowly, that return to certain images again and again, that notice the effort, patience, and care behind each frame. Every image reveals your perspective, a quiet but powerful reminder that the world is full of moments worth holding, moments worth sharing, and that your eyes, your sensibility, and your vision play a real role in shaping how others see, feel, and remember.
Interpreting the Theme: “Photography”
This edition is really about giving photographers space to show the world the way they see. whether that’s through something classic and familiar or something that pushes every expectation you’ve ever had about what a photograph can be.
Some artists might lean into documentary work, capturing reality as it is, the way the world unfolds in front of them without interference. Others might stage things, creating moments that feel both real and a little uncanny. Some will experiment with film, digital, layering techniques, or even mixing media in unique ways. And then there’s the abstract stuff, the images that don’t look like anything you’ve seen before, but somehow they contain a whole story if you look long enough.
Photography here is a playground. Light, shadow, texture, narrative.
The freedom in this theme is what makes it so exciting. You can capture a fleeting gesture that might otherwise go unnoticed, or step back and take in a sweeping urban landscape. Minimalist or vivid, stark or playful, literal or abstract, everything has a place. Each choice tells you something about the artist, how they pay attention, what they care about. And that’s the thing: photography is about noticing, staying present, observing the world with an open mind.

What’s fascinating about photography is how it captures the tiny things that words fail to. Those moments carry everything you need to understand a feeling, a mood, a time. In this edition, artists get to put those subtleties forward. It’s about connecting with someone who will stop and see what you saw, even for just a moment. Those little things, the ones that almost slip by unnoticed, they’re the heart of this collection.
Every photograph reflects the care, attention, and patience of the person behind the lens. Photography welcomes you to: slow down, look closely, see something you might have walked past a thousand times, and share it in a way that someone else can feel, hold, or recognise. It’s intimate, and it’s one of the most human ways we can connect through art.

Benefits of Participation
Participation in this edition offers artists an array of tangible and intangible benefits. Beyond the excitement of being published in a premium hardcover book, each selected work becomes part of a globally distributed collection, accessible to collectors, curators, galleries, and art lovers worldwide. The top-selected photographer will receive a USD 500 cash award, a meaningful acknowledgment of the care and vision put into their work.
But the recognition doesn’t stop there. All winning and selected photographers will appear in the 101 Art Book: Photography Edition, a premium hardcover book that will travel far beyond your local circle, available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the Arts To Hearts Project Shop. There’s something monumental about seeing your work in a book that people hold, study, and return to. It serves as a reminder that the world you noticed matters to someone else, too.
The top winner will also be invited onto the Arts To Hearts Podcast, hosted by Charuka Arora. With over 80k all-time downloads and ranked among the top 1% of podcasts for creatives. It’s a chance to share your process, your ideas, your journey, and your stories with a global audience that’s genuinely curious and deeply engaged. There’s something unique about speaking about your art in this kind of setting, where listeners are not just hearing your work but understanding the choices, struggles, and delights behind it.
And even for those who are not selected as the top winner, every artist who submits will receive a personalised digital participation certificate. It’s small, yes, but meaningful, a token of appreciation to your commitment, a professional acknowledgement you can include in your portfolio or CV.
Taken together, this combination of recognition, exposure, and opportunity makes applying to the Photography Edition an opportunity to be seen, heard, and celebrated at a meaningful level, whether you’re emerging, mid-career, or established. It’s proof that attention, curiosity, and care can carry across borders, reach people who are waiting to notice the work you’ve put your heart into, and connect you to a wider world of art, creativity, and shared human experience.
Submission Guidelines
The 101 Art Book: Photography Edition is open to artists of all levels, emerging, mid-career, or established, from anywhere in the world. Participants must be 18 years or older. The submission deadline is January 5 , 2026, and there is a one-time, non-refundable entry fee of $12 USD, which supports the production and operational costs of the book.
While the fee may seem small, it ensures that the edition can maintain high production values: premium hardcover binding, archival-quality printing, and global distribution. It is a commitment to making sure each selected work is presented with care and attention, creating a lasting record of contemporary photographic practice.
Artists are encouraged to consider the selection process thoughtfully. What story do you want your work to tell? How does it sit alongside other submissions? These considerations often result in more refined, intentional, and meaningful presentations.
A Preview of Submissions Received So Far
Even at this early stage, the Photography Edition is showing extraordinary variety. Artists from across the globe have contributed images ranging from intimate personal moments to grand urban and natural landscapes. Some frames are meticulously composed, while others capture spontaneity and chance. Every submission contributes to a richly layered dialogue about how humans perceive, experience, and translate their surroundings.
We’ve seen everything from black-and-white portraits to experimental collages blending photography with texture, light, and digital manipulation. Street photography captures the rhythm of urban life in ways both humorous and haunting. Natural landscapes, captured in detail and with atmosphere, remind us that beauty often hides in plain sight.
Each submission adds to a larger story about observation, memory, and connection. The Photography Edition will be a celebration of attention. And in compiling these works, the edition offers a snapshot of global creativity at a particular moment in time.

Important Note For Artists
The artworks featured here represent only a small glimpse of the submissions we’ve received so far and are not the final selections. Photography continues to welcome entries from artists around the world, and the official review and curation process will begin once the open call closes.
Each submission will be carefully considered, as our team looks for works that bring depth, emotion, and a fresh perspective to the theme. The final selected artists will be announced after a thorough and thoughtful evaluation, showcasing pieces that best capture the beauty, movement, and meaning of photography.
