What Is the Art & Woman Series?
Art and Woman is a signature publishing series by Arts to Hearts Project created to celebrate the creativity, perspectives, and lived experiences of women and womxn artists from around the world. More than a collection of artworks, it is a storytelling-driven publication that brings together visual art and personal narratives, creating a space where artists can share not only what they create, but also the journeys, emotions, and experiences that inspire their work.
Since its launch in 2024, the series has grown into a meaningful archive of contemporary women’s art. Across its first three editions, more than 300 women artists have been featured, representing diverse cultures, artistic practices, and career stages. Together, these volumes have documented an extraordinary range of creative voices, offering readers an opportunity to discover emerging talents alongside established artists while gaining insight into the stories behind their work.
Now, following the overwhelming response to the previous editions, Arts to Hearts Project is proud to launch Art and Woman: Edition 4. Continuing the series’ mission of celebrating women in the arts, this new edition invites artists from across the globe to become part of an ever-growing international publication that values authenticity, creative expression, and meaningful storytelling.

Unlike many open calls built around a single visual theme, Art and Woman: Edition 4 celebrates something far more personal: the unique stories that every woman artist carries within her creative practice. Rather than asking artists to create work around a specific subject, this edition invites them to share artworks that already hold meaning, pieces that reflect their experiences, perspectives, and artistic voice.

Meet Our Guest Curator for Edition 4: Liz Lidgett
Every edition of Art and Woman is shaped by thoughtful curation, ensuring that the selected artists and their stories come together in a publication that is both meaningful and inspiring. For Edition 4, Arts to Hearts Project is honored to welcome Liz Lidgett as Guest Curator.
An internationally recognized art advisor, gallery owner, author, and advocate for making art more accessible, Liz is the founder of Liz Lidgett Gallery and Design in Des Moines, Iowa. Through her gallery, she represents more than 70 contemporary artists from around the world while working closely with collectors, businesses, and designers to build thoughtful and meaningful art collections. Her career has been defined by a commitment to championing emerging and mid-career artists and creating a more welcoming, transparent, and inclusive art world.
Liz is also the author of Art for Everyone: How to Collect Art & Personalize Your Space on Any Budget, a practical guide that encourages readers to confidently engage with original art regardless of their experience or budget. Her expertise has been featured in respected publications including Better Homes & Gardens, Martha Stewart Living, House Beautiful, Forbes, Real Simple, and VERANDA, establishing her as one of today’s most influential voices in contemporary art collecting.

Who Can Participate?
Art and Woman: Edition 4 is open to women and non-binary artists worldwide, welcoming creatives of every nationality, culture, and career stage. Whether you’re an emerging artist or an established professional, this is an opportunity to share your work with an international audience.
The open call welcomes submissions across all visual art mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, ceramics, textile art, mixed media, digital art, installation, illustration, and more. There are no restrictions on style or subject matter, and artists are encouraged to submit existing works that authentically reflect their creative practice and personal voice.
Applicants must be 18 years or older, and all submitted artworks must be original. Collaborative works are also eligible, provided the submitting artist identifies as a woman or womxn and has permission from all collaborators.
What’s in It for Selected Artists?
Being featured in Art and Woman: Edition 4 is more than a publication credit. It is an opportunity to become part of an internationally recognized platform dedicated to celebrating and amplifying the voices of women artists. Every selected artist joins a growing archive of contemporary creatives while gaining meaningful visibility through a publication designed to reach collectors, curators, galleries, and art enthusiasts around the world.
The book will be distributed internationally through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the Arts to Hearts Project Shop, giving artists the opportunity to have their work published in a professionally designed volume with global reach. Alongside publication, every selected artist will receive an Official Certificate of Publication & Recognition, written remarks from Guest Curator Liz Lidgett and the jury on their selected work, editorial promotion across the Arts to Hearts Project website, newsletter, and social media channels, and long term inclusion in the fourth edition of the Art and Woman series.
The Top Winner will receive a USD 500 cash award, a beautifully designed four page editorial feature in Art & Woman: Edition 4, a professionally written interview published on the Arts to Hearts Project website, an engraved crystal trophy, and dedicated editorial and digital promotion. Their work will also be introduced to Arts to Hearts Project’s global network of more than 190,000 artists, collectors, curators, galleries, and art lovers, along with a dedicated feature shared with its international community of 100,000+ newsletter subscribers.
The First Runner Up and Second Runner Up will also receive thoughtfully curated recognition packages, including editorial features, publication, engraved trophies, promotional opportunities, and international exposure through the Arts to Hearts publishing network. These awards celebrate artistic excellence while helping artists expand their professional visibility and connect with a wider audience.
Even artists who are not selected for publication remain an important part of the Art and Woman community. Every participant receives an Official Certificate of Participation, recognizing their contribution to an international juried open call.

All artwork, artist information, and submission payments must be completed by 11:59 PM (EST) on 30 August 2026. Following the jury review process, all applicants will be notified of the results via email, with selected artists also announced through the official Arts to Hearts Project platforms.
