Art and Woman – Edition 4 Open Call: Everything You Need to Know Before Applying
There is something special about the moment an open call starts to feel real.
Maybe you saw the announcement for Art and Woman: Edition 4 when submissions first opened. Maybe you saved the page, thought about which piece you would submit, or told yourself you would come back to it when you had a little more time.
If that sounds like you, this is your little reminder. There are now less than two weeks left to submit your work to Art and Woman: Edition 4. The deadline is August 30, 2026.
There is still time to choose the work that feels most like you, gather your details, and take that step toward becoming part of the fourth edition of a publication created to celebrate women and non-binary artists and the stories behind their creative practices.
What Is Art and Woman?
Art and Woman is about people as much as it is about art. Created by Arts to Hearts Project, the series brings together women and womxn artists from around the world while making space for the stories, experiences, and perspectives behind their work.
Across its previous editions, artists have shared not only their art but also glimpses into the creative journeys that shaped it. The result is a growing collection of contemporary women artists whose voices matter just as much as the images they create.
Now, Edition 4 is opening another chapter, and your work could be part of it.
A Publication That Makes Room for Your Story
One of the most important things to know about Art and Woman: Edition 4 is that there is no single aesthetic or style you need to fit into. You do not need to create something new or change your artistic language to suit the publication.
Instead, the edition invites you to submit work that already reflects your practice, perspective, and story. Whether your work explores memory, identity, family, culture, transformation, or everyday life, what matters is that it feels authentic to you.
Meet the Guest Curator: Liz Lidgett
For Art and Woman: Edition 4, artists will be considered through the experienced curatorial eye of Liz Lidgett, an art advisor, gallery owner, and author based in Des Moines, Iowa.
Liz founded her art consultation business in 2013 and later established Liz Lidgett Gallery + Design, which now represents more than 70 contemporary artists from around the world. Her work brings together artists, collectors, galleries, and design, with a strong focus on making art more accessible and meaningful.
She is also the author of Art for Everyone: How to Collect Art & Personalize Your Space on Any Budget, published in 2026, and has been featured in publications including Forbes, Better Homes & Gardens, Martha Stewart Living, Real Simple, and VERANDA.
Her experience across contemporary art, collecting, and artist advocacy makes her a fitting Guest Curator for an edition centered on the individual stories and voices of women artists.

How Many Artworks Can You Submit?
Artists can submit 1 to 20 artworks, depending on the submission package selected during the application process. When preparing your submission, choose work that gives the jury a clear sense of your artistic practice and creative voice.
What Should Your Images Look Like?
Because the jury reviews your work through the images you provide, make sure your uploads are high-resolution, clear, and well-lit. Good documentation should represent the artwork accurately and allow the details, texture, and overall presentation to be seen without distraction.

A Note About the Submission Fee
Please keep in mind that the submission fee is non-refundable, regardless of the outcome of the jury process. Before completing your application, review your information and artwork carefully to make sure everything is ready to submit.
Submitting an application and paying the fee does not guarantee selection for publication. All submissions go through the jury process, and selected artists will be notified of the results.
Why Submit to Edition 4?
Being selected for Art and Woman: Edition 4 means becoming part of a publication built around the visibility and stories of women artists.
Selected artists will have their work included in the fourth edition and receive an Official Certificate of Publication & Recognition, written remarks from Guest Curator Liz Lidgett and the jury, and editorial promotion through Arts to Hearts Project’s website, newsletter, and social media.
The publication will also be distributed internationally through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the Arts to Hearts Project Shop, giving the selected artists an opportunity to have their work placed within a professionally produced international art publication.
And for the artists who receive the top awards, there is even more recognition waiting, including a $500 cash award for the Top Winner, a four-page editorial feature, a professionally written interview, an engraved crystal trophy, and dedicated promotional coverage.
But perhaps the most meaningful part is something simpler. Your work becomes part of a book. Something tangible that can be held, revisited, shared, and kept. Something that says: I was here. I made this. This was my voice at this moment in my life.
