Hey, you guys welcome back to the arts two hearts podcast I am your host taraka and welcome back to the season 2 anyone who’s joining us for the first time I want to say a big thank you and anyone who’s joining us or who’s a regular listener I want to say a big Thank you. In today’s episode I have a lovely friend of mine and this episode is going to be a little different than our usual episodes because of course I’ve got a friend of mine and who I dearly love but she also has something she’s amazing. She’s brilliant. She’s just so talented that. Definitely I had to bring on on the podcast for sure. But today I have another reason for having a yeah so I have been thinking about nfts for so long. Ah believe me, it’s been on my mind for forever. I even started on working on one and I thought like okay once I have the piece and then you know things will get easier. Maybe I can get the ball rolling and honestly a lot of times when we see something’s been working like when everything’s new and fresh and everyone a lot of people are succeeding. It’s new. It’s exciting. All want to try it and I definitely wanted to try it and see maybe you know if if it wasn’t something for me but the biggest problem I faced in this process was that I didn’t I just never had enough time to figure things out for myself. There’s ample of information online. There’s ample of information. That I can figure out but I need to invest that much of time that I felt was very hard given up the things I had on my plate already. But I still want you to get into it one day I saw val who’s our guest for today that I will introduce in a moment. Who shared a post about selling her and fd and then I saw another and I was like you know what instead of figuring life out of my like on my own I’m going to reach out to Allen Ask if she’s going to help me out which of course very kindly she agreed and then. Thought now just because val is going to help me out and figure things out as an artist to artists where we’re in the same zone and you know it’s easier for me to relate with what and how she’s doing and I figure things out on my way and I know the questions I have she might have had for her own self. And we decided to make this also a podcast episode so that it’s not only me that she’s teaching and sharing a knowledge with but we all get access to the goal for this podcast is to simplify the process of Nfts launching and nfts and questions and.

So many doubts we have as artists especially as artists like you know, emerging artists contemporary artists like and especially people who have like who’ve never done it and they’re overloaded with information. So this is for you. We have a master. Teacher today who’s going to be valerie welcome to the podcast style Thank you Thank you so much. Thank you so much for kindly agreeing for this.

03:00.21
Valerie
Hi Thanks for having me and thanks for the lovely introduction.

03:12.43
Valerie
That’s all good I’m happy to be here.

03:14.90
charukaarora
Well okay, but before we get into this. Um, anyone who’s listening to this episode. Can you talk ah talk a little bit about who you are what you do and where you are from.

03:26.18
Valerie
Yes, my name is melay hours back I’m originally from Austria but I live in New Zealand now I um used to only do digital um drawings and have then last year started painting acrylic on canvas and my wig is. Mainly pop sur surreal scenes of optimism and escapism I’d say um, often dealing with my own memories but also pop cultural symbols and icons. Um all mixed together. Basically.

04:03.22
charukaarora
Okay I love your work I remember when so Val and I have had so many plans that we needed to figure out together like um I think it was 2020 then when you were doing the super fine art fair and i.

04:05.70
Valerie
And all and always add some humorous elements as well say.

04:21.48
charukaarora
Wanted to come and join in and we we thought that we will be able to do it together. Unfortunately, nothing happened did you finally made it to the event did they really do it. Ah offline.

04:30.52
Valerie
Um, no wanted to go not the last time I was was Twenty twenty and then last year didn’t happen this year I had to cancel because the borders in New Zealand were closed so I’m hoping I can like next year but at this stage I’m not.

04:39.30
charukaarora
Yeah, yeah, yeah, really, you don’t enticce me. Okay, you let me know where where you’re thinking I have I’m still waiting for my visa The visa.

04:48.13
Valerie
Um, not a dip.

04:57.21
charukaarora
Offices in India still not opening I just I’m so desperately wasting waiting to get a visa so that I can fly to you guys.

04:57.62
Valerie
Oh.

05:03.44
Valerie
Yes, that be so nice.

05:06.74
charukaarora
Okay, so you said you’ve been I know when we met two years ago wow can’t believe that you were into digital I remember very very clearly and we also had this conversation also because I was also like.

05:15.70
Valerie
Yeah.

05:24.88
charukaarora
I Don’t know a lot of people know this or not a lot of my before a lot of my like before figuring things out I was a lot more into digital. Not just digital art I was like you graphic and branding and all of that and I remember when we ho. You were also like highly involved in just the digital and then you expanded your horizon. Do you want to talk a little bit about that.

05:48.68
Valerie
Yeah, so I think it all came about because I really missed that feeling of holding a brush or working away from the computer away from a screen because I’m also freelancing as a as a graphic designer a feeling of spending so much time on the computer.

06:07.61
charukaarora
Yeah.

06:08.80
Valerie
It’s just a really a really feltth wish to get away from screens and just kind of work on actual canvases and it’s been great and the great thing about it is also is I moved away from that perfectionism because when you create because when you create digital art. You can just.

06:13.72
charukaarora
Yeah, yeah.

06:20.58
charukaarora
Oh absolutely.

06:26.89
Valerie
Move things and change things and change colors. And yeah, as as often as whereas if you paint something so you have to just you’d have to just accept that It’s not going to be perfect and that’s been quite great for me to just accept.

06:30.40
charukaarora
Yeah, and I think.

06:41.32
charukaarora
I Love that idea. Yeah, that’s you and it’s also I think another really important point with digital versus Analog is the quickness of things I think when I was doing a lot more digital I Just had a hang like I had to finish something and some some whatever time hours or something.

06:58.11
Valerie
Yeah.

07:00.61
charukaarora
Then I realize realize okay when I’m doing like a physical work if it’s a smaller work I may do it in a day ah like 4 hours or whatever but then just the whole learning curve of accepting that something that you work on will take months and then you have to break the flow like we’re digital. You don’t have to wait for something to dry.

07:12.89
Valerie
Yeah.

07:20.58
charukaarora
Something to you know and you just in the floor I mean as long as you’re not tired. You can keep doing but with with and I think this is my biggest struggle even with oil painting today like I love watch I just absolutely love I think they are my next like my first blu but it’s ah it’s an it’s ah, quite an intensive learning.

07:24.50
Valerie
Is yeah.

07:40.10
charukaarora
Of Okay, so you moved from like you are today. You’re doing both digital and analog right.

07:45.90
Valerie
Yeah, yeah, so I still sketch most of my things digitally so I still create the composition digitally and all of that and and play with the colors digitally until I like them and then I paint it but during the painting process I often change things or often add little elements.

07:49.32
charukaarora
Okay.

08:03.70
Valerie
But feel like need to be on the I still I’m kind of still bridging both worlds.

08:05.99
charukaarora
Yeah, makes sense. Yeah, and is that even a bridge I think we all think there’s like a perfect balance I figure in my own like I think. You know we all have like these waves like our career Roa practices like into these wayss some some days like I feel like I’m so highly. Um, in this studio in there’s one and just making and something you like physically also like in ah in a form of painting or something. And some days I feel like I’m just so much on my laptop because there’s so much that I have to do and I just I and it’s not even I have to do sometimes I don’t feel even like I get exhausted and then I don’t feel like doing something and honestly I’ve never found a day where I feel like.

08:43.28
Valerie
Yeah.

08:57.59
charukaarora
Like a time where I’m like oh this is also good in this is so I feel like there’s always this something is a little up. Something’s a little down like it just keep something That’s off the roof. Yeah.

09:06.20
Valerie
Yeah I definitely feel like that. That’s why I liked or breaking in both because it’s kind of like when you’ve 1 you can just move to move yourself from one world and just moves yourself in another every charge like that. It’s quite nice.

09:15.57
charukaarora
Breaks the not me. Yeah yeah, now. Okay, then you got into Nfts can you talk a little bit about what really you know we we all know what nfda is but even for someone who doesn’t. Can you also break that down in the whole goal of this conversation is I know nothing about let’s say I know anyone who’s listening or I who knows nothing about and nfdas but wants to learn wants to understand and maybe also wants to do it. We’ll talk in such. Ways that we all can understand what’s happening how to do it and maybe out of this conversation. We a lot of more nfties come out and if you do please Tag Valerie and me into the yeah that so that we know that we we did something good.

10:11.70
Valerie
Yes, I’d love to see that.

10:11.85
charukaarora
Isn’t it. So let’s start with what Nft is is and then also why they interested you in the first place.

10:20.10
Valerie
And so what it is an nftt so Nft stands for non-fungible token which still might not mean anything to most people. But it’s basically a unique digital artwork that has a unique key associated with it. So it’s so a token.

10:33.89
charukaarora
Okay.

10:38.36
Valerie
In the digital sense is something like a bitcoin for example is a token but I nfts but that’s a fungible token meaning it can be exchanged same for same so one bitcoin is the same as another bitcoin whereas a non-fungible token. There’s nothing like it. You can’t exchange it.

10:40.21
charukaarora
Okay.

10:48.34
charukaarora
Say oh.

10:57.65
Valerie
Can’t exchange a piece of art for the same piece of art because it doesn’t exist. So it’s um, kind of like a who to compared to trading cards. You know if you have a real rear card that just exists as a one of um, but in the digital sense.

11:01.14
charukaarora
Okay.

11:13.36
charukaarora
Yeah, yeah, so basically to basically um, be basically entity is like if I have like let’s say if I have a pencil and if I bring it on the digital farm.

11:16.59
Valerie
That makes sense.

11:32.24
charukaarora
Um, I mean let’s I’m not saying anything if to do anything else I’m just trying to simplify it for all of us if I have a pencil if I bring it on the digital form. It gets a unique Id like we all get those Id cards which defines that this is a unique pencil and since it’s been registered on the digital platform or the network as.

11:40.89
Valerie
And.

11:48.74
Valerie
If it.

11:51.91
charukaarora
Let’s say has an an f that we’re calling so that is how an an f but what necessity is an NFd

11:56.23
Valerie
Yeah, so it’s basically gets recorded on the blockchain. So the blockchain is like ah like in a you know in the all days accountants had like levers where they’d write down all the income like outgoings and incomings and all of that that’s basic Blockchain where everything’s registered everything. That’s.

12:00.30
charukaarora
Yeah, like.

12:09.69
charukaarora
Okay.

12:15.13
Valerie
Ever been created is registered there anytime. It’s been sold. It’s there. So once it’s registered on the.

12:17.19
charukaarora
Yeah, yeah, they track a lot more moments movements and everything that you’re doing So basically they put a tag on a pencil and then they track every little thing a pencil does like even as as closely as breathing I believe.

12:30.56
Valerie
Yeah, and so giveswas Yeah, if you say me breathing pencil I would love usinging ideas. Yeah I think so.

12:37.10
charukaarora
Who Wow the breathing pencil I Love that idea that should be an Mf now. Can we have some pencils in like the ones that I have in in your background that would be funny.

12:51.67
Valerie
I Yeah, it wouldn’t be more so.

12:57.23
charukaarora
Ah, okay, so we’ve spoken about nft let’s also speak about how did you get into an fts and what one made you what made you interested in the first place.

13:07.68
Valerie
Um, well when I first heard about it I found it very interesting because having been a digital only artist I always found it hard to find a platform to sell my art because I could sell print but there was no platform to sell the original digital.

13:26.36
charukaarora
Yeah.

13:27.24
Valerie
Work. So there was no such as an original and then Nftts finally allowed digital artists to sell original work. Um, so that’s yeah, found that very fascinating. Um, and then I did I did a boot cut camp. Um.

13:34.91
charukaarora
Here.

13:45.49
Valerie
With the artist catalyst and then basically that’s where it started and then I just created one and sold it. Yeah.

13:56.79
charukaarora
Don’t care when you figured about entities and when you thought about launching one. What were your most calm like obvious in like you know your inhibitions about. Doing it or that something that was holding you back.

14:11.93
Valerie
Um, probably environmental factor was the biggest thing that really helped me back for a while and because it is it is very heavy in the environment and especially in the um ethereum blockchain which is what’s used for Nfts.

14:15.60
charukaarora
Okay, um, yeah, yeah.

14:31.55
Valerie
Um, but they’re now also creating blockchains that are less heavy on the environments Like for example, there’s one called Polygon So that’s much in the environment. So I’m gonna switch to that next I’m.

14:38.36
charukaarora
Please yeah. Okay, by switch as in by switch you mean? Okay, you’ll choose like another plaque.

14:50.70
Valerie
Button but switcher will sell it on a difference on the Polygon blockchain instead of on the ethereum blockchain. So yeah, so yeah, that was we.

14:58.32
charukaarora
Okay, oh okay, what were your innovations as artists as someone who’s trying like altogether a new explored I don’t even know what to call it like a medium I don’t know I mean this is like an unexplored medium and.

15:13.36
Valerie
My minus here.

15:18.80
charukaarora
Um, we all have like inhibitions or things that you know like should I do This is my work I think with you. The good thing was that you knew your work was a good fit because you were already doing digital drawings and all of that. But I Also read about it and I was like you know like Nfd doesn’t have to be just digital drawings or any it could be anything and everything like that’s what the whole concept is about.

15:42.93
Valerie
Not.

15:48.84
Valerie
Exactly it’s very accessible and I think a lot of people are a bit scared of it because of the whole digital factor. But really if you post something on Instagram you’ve created a digital piece of art see if you’ve done it even.

15:56.40
charukaarora
Yeah.

16:02.80
charukaarora
Yeah, that’s even if it’s a photographic of something like people selling the photographs like little or anything else.

16:08.49
Valerie
Ah, yeah, people are selling photos people are selling little video clips people are sending it selling music clips I mean people are selling tweets. You know I’m Jack Daw who said sold his first ever tweet I think for.

16:18.29
charukaarora
Really.

16:26.17
Valerie
It was like $3000000 or something crazy like that.

16:26.36
charukaarora
Oh my goodness. What’s happening in this world.

16:32.82
Valerie
But saying that it’s definitely not like a get rich fast scheme for everyone so don’t great one and expect to wake up a millionaire the next day mean people are happy for everyone that happens.

16:37.43
charukaarora
Yeah, yeah, but if you do let us know if that happens. Ah I yeah I wish a little bit of magic happens for all of us.

16:52.99
Valerie
Yeah, yeah, oh.

16:56.72
charukaarora
Okay, so tell me what were your views as an artist, especially like apart from my in all of these fears but just pures as a miko like the fear of beginning a new medium and if thought medium figuring things out and like all of those.

17:05.32
Valerie
Um, and. For that. But yeah I wasn’t really that worried about because like you said I already did my work digitally I was very comfortable in creating videos I was very comfortable in the digital space already. So It was just it was more like the thought of the first time I did it. Sort of uploading it and am I uploading it to the right thing am I clicking the right buttons like all of those little things that I was a bit apprehensive about um, but yeah, mostly I was just excited. Yeah.

17:37.59
charukaarora
Okay, so you have quite a few steps ahead of a lot of us I tell you? yeah.

17:45.27
Valerie
But saying that if you if you you know take a photo if you ever uploaded anything anywhere. That’s that’s already a digital piece of art. So it’s I think it sounds scarier than it is.

17:57.49
charukaarora
Um, I think that’s true. Okay break this down for me I know um a few questions I have in my mind a lot of times. Um, but I So I I immediately make up like you know, um. Traditional media now like my mixed media works and ever since I have been thinking about doing in and after you something you know I would I would just I be like okay maybe I need to just work on a separate digital media which is just.

18:16.54
Valerie
6

18:32.72
charukaarora
And fd inspire like just put an Fts or something like that or should I get my works photographed and then launch in an Fda about that. Um, if I do like a physical work. What do I do of my original work I mean do I sell and an fd and an original both. Or or if I’m doing a print and can I launch and an fd of the same artwork I’m doing a print of like do you do you know what? what are your thoughts on these questions.

19:00.55
Valerie
Yeah, yeah, so from what I understand so when you sell something as an nftt you only sell the Nft you do not sell the copyright. So the copyrights duke still sticks with you so you can still sell it as prints you can still sell the original.

19:10.53
charukaarora
Okay.

19:18.61
Valerie
But what you can also and what some people also do they sell the nftt and then have a hidden kind of Easter egg in there where people can unlock extra so you can unlock a print. So if they buy an nftt you can give them a print as a bonus for example, yeah.

19:32.17
charukaarora
Oh wow. Okay, so you’re saying if I’m doing like if I’m doing and an Fda for work that I have in physical farm which is like an originalian I can still keep that original and sell it. Okay.

19:38.52
Valerie
But yeah, you could.

19:51.30
charukaarora
That’s helpful. Okay, so the other thing that I think I have on my mind is how do you even figure the surprising often and fd.

19:59.30
Valerie
And well I figured it by just having a look what other people sell their and if t’s for and then just this price was point 0 to ether which was at the time. Um.

20:06.24
charukaarora
How what was your first price. What was the first n ft price type.

20:18.33
Valerie
It was like between 6 and seven hundred us dollars so that was kind of the average of what people sold their work that we’re new to the space and that it hadn’t sold a lot yet. Yeah.

20:19.56
charukaarora
Oh Wow Okay, that’s amazing.

20:29.83
charukaarora
So you were You are your first and f was on what platform. Okay now I know you’re using open C now and like all of those right.

20:34.28
Valerie
Ah, on foundation. So there’s.

20:43.65
Valerie
So yeah, so openc is the largest um, open platform. Um, and then there’s also curated platforms like like foundation or superrea or Nifty gateway. All of those are curated platforms that also.

20:48.26
charukaarora
Okay.

21:01.10
Valerie
They basically operate like a gallery where they also take a commission cut. So um.

21:03.68
charukaarora
Oh okay, Okay, so can you walk us through your process ah break it into steps little by little of how you launched like how if I’m like let’s say. These were some of my questions that I had that were holding me back. Basically so Great. You answered them. Thank you Now. Let’s let’s say now I’m ready I’m like okay, let’s give it a call.

21:35.98
Valerie
A yeah.

21:37.98
charukaarora
I’m going to pick up something from my bucket. This is exactly what I’m going to do actually and anyone who’s listening. Let’s all of us try to do that. Did you create a fresh piece for this one the first and and after you launch or did you use the one that you already had.

21:49.83
Valerie
No, so the first one was of a um digital drawing I’ve already had but I alter it created into a video so it was.

21:55.15
charukaarora
Perfect perfect. This is such a great idea. So what we all can do as and that’s what I’m going to do I’m going to pick up a piece of one of my collages that’s with with me and I am going to launch in an fd of that.

22:12.00
Valerie
Yes.

22:14.20
charukaarora
Now let’s say I have that peace in mind now there are ways like you you mentioned 1 way that I can exactly keep the piece photograph it and launch it on as an and after the other ways I can play around it with it like a little bit more digitally right? okay.

22:16.32
Valerie
Yes.

22:29.77
Valerie
Yeah.

22:34.00
charukaarora
So can you ah walk us through like if I’m going to convert like let’s let’s also like I’m really asking very basic and questions because you know I know like some sometimes I feel like I am technologically quite advanced like I I.

22:41.89
Valerie
So yeah, perfect.

22:53.68
charukaarora
Been here for for a while. So. It’s not such a challenge but a lot of times. Um I also face a lot of challenges. But what feels so obvious to me I know that it’s not for a lot of people and I just feel like I need to be more informed about. A lot of information that people don’t know about and I can keep breaking that down first. Um, is there any size limit like when you’re launching like doing a Jpe P N G like does it have to be under certain g gbs or. Does it have to be certain quality or something like that.

23:30.49
Valerie
Not that I’ve come across so mine was that I upload was an MPFour it was quite large and it was no problem. So probably probably I mean that probably if you will try and upload it something that’s ah like a hundred gigabytes they might risk.

23:36.91
charukaarora
Nearly so you like it has nothing to do with the size and all of that.

23:46.91
charukaarora
Yeah, yeah, no, okay so you basically took 1 of your pieces and then convert it into a video.

23:49.53
Valerie
But I haven’t come across this.

23:57.10
Valerie
Yeah I took one of my pieces and then created a video so added added news. So basically the piece was of a lady sitting on a chair looking at her phone and her face was an emoji and I then took it and and created other emojis on her face and basically it flicks.

24:09.55
charukaarora
How.

24:16.56
charukaarora
Oh my God who I remember now. Yes I can recall can I add this ah in our show notes for everyone who’s listening and if they want to check out so you’re going to send me that link. Okay, so anyone who’s ah.

24:16.84
Valerie
Through all the emerges. Ah.

24:28.40
Valerie
Capital. Yeah yeah, thousand.

24:34.74
charukaarora
Listening you can check it, check this and f out of valeries I’m going to link it link it on our show notes that you can go check out on http://wwtrotfor.com. You will also find more works from Valerie her prince and other work. So and believe me I love her work so much. It’s It makes me just so so happy. So happy. Okay, let’s get back to a learning so you okay I’m going to so I’m going to break this down for me I’m going to pick up a piece see if I want to alter it. Maybe I do.

24:54.87
Valerie
Is.

25:09.77
charukaarora
But it’s not so complicated. You just don’t have to alter it. It’s like I always love making things complicated for me for some reason so I know even though it could be easy I could just take a picture I also got a new camera just now so it’ll give me another reason so go to play with it. So I’m going to do that and then.

25:20.47
Valerie
Oh yeah.

25:29.42
charukaarora
I’m going to maybe if not edit but whatever you can just take a picture as long as it’s a picture right.

25:33.40
Valerie
Like like and you can also do like a boomerang or you can do a little process process video because as I’ve seen a lot of art process videos off there.

25:39.33
charukaarora
Really have you seen art cell like or do Nfts of process videos.

25:47.30
Valerie
I’ve heard of an artist that said he’s gonna do it. Yeah, so it’s literally anything anything anything earth.

25:48.90
charukaarora
Wow My goodness I think so the biggest thing is even if we do that I think my mental block is how am I going to sell this I think there’s this discomfort but because we’ve never and it’s you know it’s so.

26:02.50
Valerie
Yeah, yeah.

26:07.92
charukaarora
I think we as artists create so much I was thinking about this the other day like you know we create so much of content and the kind of content that we create also takes lots of effort and labor like not trying to demean anyone nothing. But for someone let’s say on Instagram who’s. Who’s let’s say like who’s a fashion blogger the effort of curating an like an outfit versus like creating an artwork like that’s a lot of free content like lot of free content and we share that every day we share like how to do processes or like you know our.

26:37.79
Valerie
Yeah, yeah.

26:46.50
charukaarora
Process videos and all of that and we all know like you know it’s a lot of added effort when you’re doing the work like sometimes I hate I Absolutely hate recording because I feel so distracted or like you know, not in this zone but we still do it. We still show up. We create that content but we never we never paid for that content.

26:55.78
Valerie
Yeah, towards everything? Yeah yeah.

27:05.87
charukaarora
Ah, surprisingly a fashion blogger still gets paid because you know they can have affiliates and you know all of those things. But I think like even ah, even with the amount of effort. We guys put in ah and not even able to monetize any bit of faith now when you think about oak is.

27:11.77
Valerie
Yeah, yeah.

27:24.79
charukaarora
You can get paid for something you’ve been doing and you don’t have a habit for I Think that’s a little uncomfortable because you know you don’t you have a habit of doing something that you’re not getting paid off and suddenly you think you someone says oh you could you could get paid for this and like really.

27:38.66
Valerie
Yeah I know it’s great because ah pardon.

27:45.00
charukaarora
So are you going to launch I Do are you thinking of doing like a process video or something.

27:51.38
Valerie
Um, no I think I’ll stick with little videos of my drawings or alterations of my drawings.

27:58.66
charukaarora
Perfect. Okay, so now let’s move forward once we have our Jpeg videos can we also I think I’m sure we can do gifs and.

28:02.30
Valerie
Yes, yeah.

28:08.94
Valerie
Yeah, you dip gives videos and static and MP three m p fours. Um, yeah, so your next step is you have to set up a wallet which means like a wallet at all.

28:14.20
charukaarora
Pictures perfect. Okay, so once I have that What is my next step. No, That’s the hard part.

28:28.93
Valerie
Cryptocurrency So your wallet will be basically your logins to any um Marketplace So I I used a wallet called Meta Mask so you can just go on like Meta masksk I think it’s Metamast Io but I can send you that link too and.

28:34.10
charukaarora
Okay, okay.

28:46.91
Valerie
And then set up your wallet Once you have the wallet set up. You can already buy some ethereum if you want to which because you will need the ethereum if you want to list your nftt. So I.

28:47.74
charukaarora
Okay.

28:55.99
charukaarora
Okay. Okay.

29:04.60
Valerie
I would recommend buy I don’t know $50 worth of ethereum. Um.

29:06.80
charukaarora
Okay, but you were saying you you also found like a better alternative which is um yeah see are you going to try that now.

29:15.10
Valerie
Polygon Yeah, so you also start start. Yeah, so you can also start with Meta Maskk You can also start on polygon.

29:22.75
charukaarora
Okay, so what I’ll do next is I’m going to go on meta mask right? Just give me 1 moment just give me 1 moment ha but ticket care ah size.

29:27.41
Valerie
You go on Metamas set up your wallets and that’s.

29:42.22
charukaarora
Yeah, so I’m good. Go on meta maskk and exactly what is Metamas it’s like a wallet.

29:45.85
Valerie
Yeah Metamas is like the wallet basically which will hold your um which will hold your cryptocurency but it also holds if you buy an Nft. It will also hold your Nft in there. So yeah, just see see it see like.

29:53.23
charukaarora
Okay.

29:58.87
charukaarora
Okay, so it’s like a way incoming of money and outgoing off anything that we’re doing so it’s like a bag watching bag so we are going to first sign up for a virtual bag.

30:04.86
Valerie
Yeah, basically like they can’t Yes, yeah. Yeah, so sign up for Meta maskk and that is that is your key to everything else as Well. So when you sign up for Meta mask. It’ll give you a unique key which is like a whole row of wordss these that.

30:15.10
charukaarora
Okay.

30:24.95
charukaarora
Okay, okay, okay.

30:29.12
Valerie
You’ll see it when you when you log in I’m just saying write that down somewhere that that’s go to be your pass code. Should you ever lose your logins. That’s your recovery code so write that down on a piece of paper and put it somewhere safe. Um.

30:36.90
charukaarora
Can. Okay, so um, is there any charge in this process of signing up for Meta mask. No So I haven’t spent anything yet. Okay.

30:48.86
Valerie
No, not just so you just sign up for no, you haven’t spent anything yet so you sign up for me them ask then you go to open sea for example for how to open see you sign up to open sea and you connect by connecting.

30:58.92
charukaarora
Then I go to open C Okay, okay, and how does that connection is like to have to do something.

31:07.46
Valerie
To your wallet. So your yeah so your meta mask will be in Chrome will be like a Chrome extension you notice Chrome extension see up near your browser bar so you’ll see you’ll see a little fox up there which is meta mask.

31:16.10
charukaarora
Okay, yeah, yeah. Okay, okay, okay, okay.

31:26.46
Valerie
And once you’re in open c and you want to connect ask you to connect your wallet and you click connect with Meta Maskk then meta masks will automatically pop up and say please sign and there’s a button that says sign where you basically allow open c and. Metamask to be connected.

31:44.52
charukaarora
Okay, so basically I have very little to do in this open C and Meta mask are going to deal with each other in that process link there.

31:53.85
Valerie
It’s like they’re dealing with each other and then when you later whenever you want to log into your open sea. You have to log in via your metamask so you don’t have your password and login for open seats. All it’s all linked with your meta masksk.

32:00.90
charukaarora
Oh hey, oh it’s the same. Oh perfect. So yes, very oh my God I you know I can’t even tell you.

32:11.62
Valerie
Commit spins so there the gate.

32:19.93
charukaarora
Like I had I had this like whole mystery of how things are going to happen and now when you’re explaining it it it just I think it’s also reduced so much of the overwhelm because it no longer like you know when you know that you when you have information broken into stats.

32:28.74
Valerie
Yeah, yeah.

32:35.58
Valerie
Yeah, yeah.

32:37.43
charukaarora
You know? Okay, okay I can take off this is what I can do. This is what I need to figure out so far so long I think the only thing I need to figure out is what artwork I want to use I think everything you’ve mentioned is so much doable for any of us like you just need to go on to the internet search something.

32:45.49
Valerie
Yeah.

32:55.56
charukaarora
Sign up for something. We all know how to do that. That’s it right.

32:56.49
Valerie
Yeah, follow the steps read read what it says at each step and yeah, yeah, nothing So you’ve you’ve created your open sea account. You’ve put in your.

33:05.85
charukaarora
So give this far. Also I haven’t spent anything right.

33:15.87
Valerie
Profile picture your name and it should bio and then what you can do is then create so there’s a button says create so you can create an Nft which is basically you upload your nftt. So this step to uploads um is basically the minting.

33:22.48
charukaarora
Okay. Okay.

33:34.30
charukaarora
Okay.

33:34.51
Valerie
Step so on some platforms like foundation. For example, they charge a fee for that process on opense that don’t charge a fee for uploading it. So if we stick with open sea you upload your piece of art.

33:45.11
charukaarora
Okay.

33:51.00
charukaarora
Which is like basically I’m going to upload something on Instagram or like wordpress or like any web. Yeah I’m going to pick up my bitcher I’m going to take details of that at like the title price probably size and all of those things.

33:53.20
Valerie
And it’ll Eat. Speak is. Inside.

34:07.92
Valerie
So you so you don’t put the price yet, you just put a title in up. So yeah, upload for example, your type like and then once it’s there you can list it for sale so you can list it either as an auction or you can list it as a fixed price on open sea.

34:09.90
charukaarora
And then okay, okay, okay.

34:24.98
charukaarora
Okay, and when do we put up when do we add that price about.

34:27.63
Valerie
And.

34:32.59
Valerie
That’s what what do you do? Then at that stage when you up when you basically list it for sale. That’s when you um what they call mint mint it. So it means you stamp the blockchain. So then that’s when it.

34:41.85
charukaarora
Okay.

34:47.60
Valerie
Officially exists in the blockchain and for that you have to pay a fee.

34:48.34
charukaarora
Oh Wow. Okay, so for maintaining. Okay, yes, this is a far that you can you talk a little bit more about okay I didn’t I didn’t get this one.

34:59.90
Valerie
Okay, so when you list it it. So basically I’m stamping in on the blockchain is you basically in the register it officially exists um on the blockchain and will forever be on there doesn’t.

35:10.61
charukaarora
Okay.

35:16.33
charukaarora
Okay, so that is what like listing is like so far until the point that we’re uploading. We’re actually collating all the information together. But and it’s there and we’ve added to the registry but now to actually make it a official entry you convert it for listing and you.

35:18.96
Valerie
Since.

35:24.40
Valerie
Yeah.

35:33.61
Valerie
Yeah, you yeah and which will mint it and then that’s when you add a sale price and that’s when they charge you what they call a gas fee.

35:35.79
charukaarora
Add like a sale price.

35:42.30
charukaarora
And now what is this gas fee. How much is this gas fee is this a flat fee or like a.

35:45.58
Valerie
The cash is like nose. It’s actually it wildly fluctuates like when I mentored my very first nft I think I paid like fifty sixty dollars for my second one I paid one hundred and fifty dollars

35:58.30
charukaarora
Um, okay, hundred and fifty dollars are

36:03.69
Valerie
Around that. Yeah and I just checked before and now and now the prices are down.

36:19.17
charukaarora
Um, that’s this is precisely why I record before everyone wakes up and after everyone goes to sleep including them. Also.

36:21.50
Valerie
So should I Just keep.

36:28.51
Valerie
You know it. Um, so actually just check before what the current gas price is and currently it’s between fifty and ninety dollars so the more you pay yeah so the more you pay faster it will be on the property.

36:37.89
charukaarora
Um, okay so this is a good time. Oh sorry.

36:53.12
Valerie
And the less you pay the long it will take so if you wanted if you want to list its immediately. You have to pay a little bit more if you dont mind way few hours then you pay a little less. So yeah, it’s kind of.

36:57.60
charukaarora
Can you see that again. Oh okay, Okay, oh.

37:12.47
Valerie
And but I don’t really know what the factors are and I think if there’s a lot of people meant same time. The prices are higher. So.

37:15.69
charukaarora
yeah yeah I think it could be also a processing fee or like I don’t know but I think that this happens in a lot of places where you know Express the urgency and they you they charge you more and then.

37:28.40
Valerie
And so.

37:34.82
charukaarora
If you can wait it out and you get it through perfect? yeah.

37:34.89
Valerie
Yeah, it’s kind of like that as earlier. Um, yeah, and then once you once you’ve put it up for sale then you can basically start advertising. It’s on your so Twitter is a very big space for nftts.

37:51.34
charukaarora
yeah yeah yeah I heard that did you are you on an left now. Are you Twitter now. Did you like.

37:54.11
Valerie
And if t communities are on Twitter but of course you can all stop. yeah yeah I on Twitter.

38:05.94
charukaarora
Were you on Twitter when you actually launch your first and Nfd. Okay, where most of us will be right now.

38:07.37
Valerie
Um I was on Twitter but I didn’t use it so I never really because Twitter isn’t yeah like I like I only really started to be a little bit more active or like actually openly opening the app more than once a year in the last month um yeah so I’m based on because I’m not really active on there I don’t really have a huge follow ship. So with it on there a sheet it.

38:29.33
charukaarora
So did you share about the and Fda on Twitter did you find like did you find people online on Twitter in context to an case. Yeah.

38:46.38
Valerie
But also shoot it on Instagram I sheeted on Facebook I sent out a news like a couple of newsletters with it. So basically all the traditional advertising channels work as well. Yeah.

38:50.87
charukaarora
Yeah. Now. Okay now so this is the process of launching an F and Fd right? Okay now. Yeah, perfect now I have questions post the process. A lot of people will have I have.

39:04.14
Valerie
Yeah, yeah, so how got it up for sale will to buy.

39:15.52
charukaarora
I think a lot of things people hold us like ah questions of fears that hold us back. Oh that not especially when there’s there’s also cost involved like um, let’s say if I want to launch and an fd and my first.

39:24.20
Valerie
M.

39:31.25
charukaarora
That comes in I don’t even know if I can even sell it I don’t even know who buys I don’t even know anyone in this whole thing and if anything else I’m just going to lose money by you know by investing my time and money into it. I Think one of the most common fears and something that holds us back is that um, can you share your insights about when you launch. How did you know anyone? how that happened.

39:49.84
Valerie
Yeah.

39:56.34
Valerie
So when I launched it I didn’t know anyone that had bought an Nft was interested in buying one but then I um actually started talking about it to more people and then I realized a friend of mine was actually interested in buying nifts and started getting into that space and. He was the one that ended up buying it. But it’s yeah, it’s really yeah because I I feel like the more you talk about what you do the more you tell people about it and you’ll find out interested then you’ll find out. Um more people than you know are actually interested.

40:16.56
charukaarora
Okay, Wow so it was totally out of the blue.

40:25.28
charukaarora
Yes, yeah, oh.

40:34.63
Valerie
And the topic. So I for talk about it. Talk to people it gives lives time interested connect.

40:34.80
charukaarora
Um, oh yeah, yeah, Butff How many nfds have you sold so far if you want to share. Okay.

40:44.67
Valerie
I Just told the one and if I’ve just released him The second one recently? yeah and I’m working on now like and collection of N of ts.

40:50.91
charukaarora
And you told me that you’re working on something right now. Um, Wow like are you going to launch them all together or like um, Wow Um, let’s let’s also talk about now selling. Let’s say we have and I think this bottleneck is just not in Nftds. Ah.

41:00.76
Valerie
Um, yeah, yeah.

41:15.12
charukaarora
People face artists face this everywhere like you can make the work I think that’s the easy job for a lot of us to sell the work to promote that work is the hard job like um, okay, my fundamental basic question. the the M P four or the image or anything that we used. And that’s on the blockchain but we can of course use that anywhere else for promotions right? That will also mean yeah, but it’ll be um, it’ll still be the same thing but it’ll won’t be like a.

41:39.28
Valerie
Yeah, yeah, because it’ll be like anywhere else. It won’t be that unique token.

41:53.17
Valerie
No, no yeah yeah.

41:53.78
charukaarora
Unique id that is on the n fda right? So anything and and anything I make the same image image I can use that for promotions. Okay for promotions Linkedin Twitter is a big and f space.

42:03.23
Valerie
Yeah, what.

42:10.31
Valerie
For take him.

42:12.37
charukaarora
Instagram people that you know just pressing that word out there I think okay newsletter. Yes, fantastic basic. Yes.

42:16.28
Valerie
Letter. Yeah what I also did when I say when I sent it out in my theater. What I also did they also added little buttons explaining what an nftt is and the why why investing and benefit. Like why people would invest in Nfts so I basically added all that information into the Newsletter. So if someone’s interested. They can then read up on it a bit more and yeah.

42:39.57
charukaarora
Interested Yeah, makes sense. Okay, ah what else do I have okay so basically what I feel is. Um, if I have my work sorted if once I have my work ready ready to upload then it’s not even an hour that takes to pull this off together. It’s critic, A fast. So Anyone who’s listening to this episode can actually I mean we all.

43:03.15
Valerie
Yeah, that’s very fast. Yeah.

43:15.39
charukaarora
Can launch in an Fda in a day. Basically right I think I have to do that challenge.

43:20.44
Valerie
I Think just try just see it as an investment. You know you know.

43:26.12
charukaarora
Yeah, absolutely I think and I think the more than anything the thrill of learning something new and understanding another. Yeah I.

43:32.10
Valerie
Yeah I loved as well I’m just so curious about the hall you know Metta various about and if tears I’m just very curious about that whole new space. There’s kind of coming towards it like.

43:45.83
charukaarora
Same Yeah I think for me the most exciting thing is to see it I think one even even if you don’t in instantly not even I’m not so talking even about the longer term. But even if we don’t gain.

43:49.71
Valerie
Ah, thanks.

44:03.15
charukaarora
Anything instantly in sense of monitoring I think experiencing a new medium or something that’s completely new opens up your mind in different ways you see the possibility of how you approach your work in such a like like you know, just now you said.

44:16.34
Valerie
Yes, yeah.

44:21.40
charukaarora
People are selling their process and I think even if you don’t want to? ah I think sell I mean ah when people do Youtube videos I believe if you see they’re also selling their content in some ways they’re monetizing their content I think this the whole difference is 1 thing happens in 1 way, something happens in another way.

44:32.73
Valerie
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

44:40.52
charukaarora
But I think it just opens up your mind that that so much more is possible than we than we just think or then what we know and when you try something completely new it. It’s.

44:49.77
Valerie
Yeah.

44:56.56
charukaarora
It’s like a different kind of learning that you can apply into what you’re already doing and yeah.

44:58.86
Valerie
Yeah, exactly and then one other benefit for artists to do nftts is that you still earn money on the secondary market. So if someone buys if you sell your Nft and then that person resells it. You still get a percentage that sell.

45:14.78
charukaarora
Yeah, yeah, yeah I Yeah yeah, that’s yeah I like that? Yeah, so basically let’s say if I launched on an fd which I will and will do like a.

45:18.34
Valerie
Forever, That’s something that’s really missing traditional life like. So.

45:33.92
charukaarora
Will you also launch another nfd with me effect what we’ll do is let’s figure this out right now. Anyone who’s listening to this episode. Let’s put out like a like a challenge in a day like let’s put out some Hashtag we’ll figure this out.

45:35.00
Valerie
Yes I Love that.

45:50.77
charukaarora
But let you it’ll be such a good motivation for me to figure out an nfd and then you’ll also join me and anyone who’s who’s um, listening to this episode ah can join us into this challenge and we’ll take like we’ll give orself one day like one day we just have to pick up.

45:53.26
Valerie
Yes.

46:06.78
Valerie
Yeah.

46:10.27
charukaarora
Ah, pre-existing work something that’s already short even if you want to launch like a process. We do think of something that you already have you don’t have to create and give yourself some time. It’s going to even take like not even an hour so and let’s all do like a like a Nfd Club

46:17.88
Valerie
Yes, yeah.

46:24.93
Valerie
Yeah, let’s say yes, circle and like.

46:29.98
charukaarora
Yes, yes, let’s think let’s think of more on this. Let me let me do that. But okay, you were saying something. Um I forgot.

46:39.70
Valerie
I was I was saying that you’ll still earn money under secondary markets.

46:43.61
charukaarora
yes yes yes yes I think um, this is something that you like you said has been missing um and it gives you I think also a lot of us think shot down. And if we see this as like like you settle as an investment that you’re making in your cell today and investment pays you off in the longer run what you invest in today. Even if it is if it stays there even if it’s just there.

47:10.14
Valerie
Yeah, yeah.

47:18.20
charukaarora
But who knows what’s going to happen another couple of years I mean.

47:21.47
Valerie
Yeah, and think I think it’ll become so much because already on Twitter you can use the nftts you bought as your profile image and if you use and and I think if you use an nftt. The profile picture isn’t round. It’s I think a hexagon.

47:29.44
charukaarora
Oh.

47:35.82
charukaarora
Oh Wow really.

47:39.33
Valerie
I’ve heard that Instagram is also looking into doing something in the nftt space. There is the whole yeah meter verse is getting bigger and bigger where display your nftts in your house or in your properties there. So if you.

47:45.88
charukaarora
Yeah.

47:55.79
charukaarora
Burning.

47:56.41
Valerie
If you have an Nft that your own you can display it in your house and it’ll have a special frame so like people will know that that’s an original Nft. Yeah, so it’s definitely I think it’s definitely here to stay.

48:01.76
charukaarora
And FT oh wow perhaps I’m of course I mean in any shape or form. We’re already moving forward in the digital world. The things like things are moving faster than ever.

48:18.24
Valerie
Yeah, yeah.

48:20.66
charukaarora
Shaping Faster than ever a lot of um, a lot of new things are coming up and it’s only going to change from here. We don’t know where this would go but it I I’m sure that this direction is here to stay whatever happens Next is. But the digitization is here to stay for anything else. Okay, so um, do you have anything else that you want to Share. Um.

48:40.14
Valerie
Yeah, definitely yeah.

48:50.26
Valerie
Um, no, um I think just don’t be scared just try it I think new things new things are always weirded. It’s always kind of.

48:56.47
charukaarora
Yes, that’s a good vi right? What? What do you? What do you want to say to people or art as well. Listening who who feel overwhelmed I think Overwhelm is a very common feeling for all of us.

49:10.84
Valerie
And.

49:13.35
charukaarora
Because we’re already taking so much more information sell on this do on that make prints. Do this do commissions do freelance and like all of those things um overwhelm is is quite an office outcome for um, lot of us. What do you want to say to people who feel that.

49:16.46
Valerie
Here.

49:28.62
Valerie
I think I’d probably say don’t like don’t look at the whole big nft market look at yourself look at your baby steps that you can take if you want to sell it look you know instead of looking at the I don’t know whole Forest and get. Overwhelmed with all the trees just look at your tree and then climb that and then go through the next don’t one.

49:50.38
charukaarora
I love that I always love that idea and I think that’s what you did for me today also because I think before we started this podcast I only I came from a place that I wanted to do in an fd I just and again for the thrill of launching I feel like I’m someone who if there’s something that’s happening.

50:09.59
Valerie
Yeah.

50:09.77
charukaarora
I would give it a try for once and then if I don’t like it I may let it just go. But for me, it’s very I if something interests me I have to I have to try it but I had a big cloud you you’ve taken the first step you’re leading this now. So.

50:18.61
Valerie
Yeah, on the side I think yeah.

50:28.35
charukaarora
And I think I had this really big cloud and I’ll tell you what happened and why in this conversation I have insisted on the fact that we repurpose something that we already have because what happened with me was I had been thinking about doing in an fd but my mind of course instantly didn’t. Go into the process of how to figure things out of course that’s why I have you here because I was locating but I knew and that I didn’t want to go onto the internet like absorb a million more information and then get overwhelmed and that can you know I wanted to speak to someone who speaks the same language as I do. And I can ask ask basic questions and but what I did was I started creating like a digital work I knew I could pick up another work that I already had I could photograph. But for some reason I was like you know I’m going to pick up a digital one.

51:21.59
Valerie
Yeah, yeah.

51:23.57
charukaarora
Now I didn’t I started it I started a couple of weeks ago I was I was actually like you know I photographed like um one of my previous works and I was actually altering that and I did it for a day I haven’t gotten the time to. Actually go back to it now that and now that has become like a like a burden on me like because I like unfinished projects you we carry them on our shoulders. We have to let them go like and for me if I’ve had set my mind on to something now unless I don’t do it. It’s going to be on my shoulder.

51:41.80
Valerie
Yeah.

51:51.90
Valerie
Yeah, yeah.

51:57.54
Valerie
Um, yeah.

51:59.89
charukaarora
Now I have to get this off my shoulder. So now I have that I have that digital work and that’s way before like being finished and I know that I’ll have to invest so much more hours for doing that and then then you know this whole cycle comes in.

52:12.57
Valerie
Yeah, yeah.

52:18.80
charukaarora
Now have to invest so much of ours. Is it worth it should I really be doing this right now or should I be doing something else. You know now. Yeah.

52:23.53
Valerie
Yeah, but I mean that any artwork paint you’d spend hours and hour hours and hour hours and days on a painting but you also don’t know will you sell it will you I it like sometimes I’ve spen’ painting and hated it and painted over it again. So.

52:34.81
charukaarora
That’s true. That’s true.

52:42.14
charukaarora
That’s true. But I think the only difference in this one for me was I knew I wanted to experiment I wasn’t like I it was like this I wanted to get I wasn’t creating maybe again? Yeah I wasn’t creating primarily I didn’t choose a medium or something because I wanted to create and I think. That’s a little different when you know you’re painting because you really wanted to paint like for me the whole concept right? now was to experiment I wanted to experiment with and Nfts now that got in the way when I I complicated things for myself and I was like no I’m going to do this and like I complicated the whole stuff.

53:01.51
Valerie
Yeah, yeah.

53:08.24
Valerie
Yeah.

53:18.43
charukaarora
and now I and a couple of weeks like a days before when we now we are recording this I was thinking that I had this good that. Okay, you know when I’m going to speak to Valerie I’m going to make sure that um for myself and anyone who’s listening. We can do this in a day because we all have so much we so much. Commit we already overcome it 2 things like you know we’re making things for hours and days and months and not knowing how things are going to pan out like.

53:42.30
Valerie
Yeah, and and I also think with the new technology sheet that you know people are overwhelmed as scared of so they can remember when Instagram first started or Facebook first started we all we all got onto it and there were not was no instruction manual. You just kind of.

53:58.73
charukaarora
Yeah, you figure it out and feel but thankfully we didn’t have you then but we have you now? Okay, so yeah I think that’s that’s what if you I just want to say that I’m going to do that I’m going to correct that mistake of mine because.

54:01.71
Valerie
Ah, good thing. Yeah.

54:18.90
charukaarora
I I Just I think you figured out I think you once you make things easier for yourself in the beginning as you figure things out like and then once you get a hang of it and you know okay this is you want to do it and then you can keep you can go as long as you want as big as you want and like.

54:35.30
Valerie
Yeah, and create. Yeah.

54:37.68
charukaarora
Just to keep that overwhelm at atpa I mean you were you are you here? you’ve sold 1 already, you’re launching a collection you hear because in the beginning you kept things simpler for you. Maybe you will do like a more complicated collection this time or like.

54:45.67
Valerie
Yeah, yeah.

54:56.96
charukaarora
I Don’t know it. It doesn’t even have to be complicated I think I just have this I will always make things complicated for myself I don’t know why.

55:01.21
Valerie
I was like but that’s what dads I think that’s your stumbling blocks because then it’s too complicated and you you’re not going to do it whereas if you just keep it simple just do something with already happen even if you just I don’t know take a photo and maybe add something digitally.

55:09.16
charukaarora
Yes, yes, yes.

55:18.77
charukaarora
Yes.

55:20.28
Valerie
Something small to be big then already. It’s different. So if you don’t want to just upload a photo you can just add something to it. You know.

55:28.56
charukaarora
That’s true. Yeah I think that makes sense and I mean maybe pick up a I mean pick up ah pick up an old piece that you have That’s not sold. That’s been in your studio for a very long time pick that up.

55:43.80
Valerie
Yeah, yeah.

55:46.30
charukaarora
Photograph that I think that’s such a safe thought because I think I love the idea of giving our work another chance chance and another chance and another chance until it finally.

55:50.86
Valerie
Yeah, and then you can eat and you can even say like if you buy this Nft. You also get the original. Yeah, do that then you can even create a bigger incentive for someone to buy it.

55:58.25
charukaarora
Original Yeah I think that’s such a great idea. Yes.

56:06.80
charukaarora
Yes, that’s true. That’s true. So and it also gives you another purpose when you know that you’re trying to repurpose something that you’ve already done and giving it another chance it short inside process the learning cost becomes smaller The stumbles.

56:17.18
Valerie
Here.

56:25.38
charukaarora
Like the roadblocks come become lesser and the purpose becomes even stronger because you know that you’ve made something already and you you want to give it another chance and then you’re only led with like you’re left with an hour of just I don’t even think it’ll take an hour what you say.

56:41.81
Valerie
I Don’t think so I think you can do it in in a few like half an hour at the most like at least setting everything up and then like and then it might take longer to list it or to mint its but if you’ve got it all set up so it’s it’s yeah.

56:48.80
charukaarora
Perfect.

56:54.72
charukaarora
Okay. Amazing.

57:01.49
Valerie
It’s a very fast process and then plus if you if you sell it and you’ve got some ether in your wallets that’ll increase in value as well well increase over.

57:08.67
charukaarora
Yeah, who I had this question Also now what do you do with this ethereum like let’s say if I I did some money now. Let’s also talk about oh I miss this? Yes, Yes, let’s talk about how you sold it what happens when you sell what.

57:19.19
Valerie
Yes.

57:26.77
charukaarora
What is this intake of money like let’s talk about that. Also I forgot that thank you.

57:28.51
Valerie
So I saw yes like I said I saw it to a friend of mine after chatting to him on about Nftts and then he was interested. Interested wanted to buy it so he bought it and then once I once he bought it I had the money on in my mitter mask wallet.

57:45.59
charukaarora
Okay.

57:48.28
Valerie
I I personally left it in my wallet because I knew that I wanted to list another one. So I knew I can then just use the ethereum for the next one if you want to get the money out. You can just transfer it to your bank.

58:00.30
charukaarora
And does it like have any transferring charges with us that is there anything like that. Okay here you are for the longer game.

58:05.52
Valerie
Not that I know of no I haven’t tried it because I just left it in there because I just wanted yeah and I wanted to invest in cryptocurrency Anyway, so was like that’s a good stuff. A good thing to have in there for the long run. Anyway.

58:17.75
charukaarora
And you is. Okay, how’s your experience. Did you have you use open C Now your first was on open C okay.

58:28.80
Valerie
My first was on um foundation and my second one I upload on Foundation as well. Um, so I’m gonna but my new collection I’m gonna upload an open see because I’m going to use the Polygon um blockchain.

58:43.50
charukaarora
And okay, now let’s now let’s also talk about this Polygon blockchain and environment. How do I make this switch like if I want to be an informed creator.

58:53.67
Valerie
So it. So yeah, you can go on meta mask and then choose to be on the polygon blockchain. So don’t ah don’t know if there’s a direct switch or if you have to add. But if you Google it it like mit ah like I’ve googled it on and saw it on a meta mask.

59:00.32
charukaarora
Okay.

59:06.86
charukaarora
Yes.

59:12.40
Valerie
Website is a pretty simple I think it’s like a 3 step process to switch it over to polygon you’d still, you’d still work with ether but it’s on ah the metamak currency is the same but a different blockchain.

59:18.20
charukaarora
Okay, okay, different block 10 but yes, yes, it does and does.

59:30.11
Valerie
It makes sense So it’s apparently the same bank in a way but like different currency. Ah no same currency but different bank in a way.

59:41.27
charukaarora
Yeah, more heldier bank more sustainable and environment. Friendly bank. Perfect Okay valy I am I just I feel so much lighter already because I felt like I came up with this like um.

59:46.55
Valerie
Yeah, yeah.

59:59.41
charukaarora
Baggage and now I know exactly what I can do and how long it will take me the effort. It would take for me and I can’t even tell you how helpful that is. Thank you so much.

01:00:12.56
Valerie
I’m so happy to hear that are you so welcome. Thank you so much for inviting me on your podcast.

01:00:18.87
charukaarora
Thank you for coming but I’m not letting you go I want. Also you can you also talk a little bit about your and fd collection coming car and anything else that you’re doing and people who are watching this where can they find you. Um, but can they see or Nftds and if they want to reach out to you. Can they? if so how.

01:00:40.33
Valerie
Yeah, so you can reach out to me on basis probably on my Instagram so if you got to I at I am valerism um, or my website is http://valerism.com um so you can call it me.

01:00:48.56
charukaarora
Yes I love that? Okay, but amazing.

01:00:56.67
Valerie
Through either if you have any questions I’m more than happy to help anyone? Um, and for my next projects. Yeah I’m like working on a Nft collection and then I’m also working my nftt collection. It will probably be similar to my first two nftts which is.

01:01:08.62
charukaarora
What’s that about? yeah.

01:01:16.24
Valerie
Like playing with the emojis in digital space and our fast- raning emotions as we scroll in through our social media like you know when you scroll through and you like give Heart Emoji in the next Cry Emoji and the next one an angry emoji and you’re like.

01:01:21.45
charukaarora
Oh well? Okay, yeah, yeah.

01:01:33.80
Valerie
Ah, your face isn’t actually changed but you just kind of ah and feel. Yeah I think you? yeah yeah, so I quite like that’s that theme.

01:01:38.75
charukaarora
That’s true I Love that I now I I can recall up that video and I I Really love that one it flipped those emojis.

01:01:53.45
Valerie
So it’ll play with keep playing with that theme in my Nft Ts for now. Okay.

01:01:55.60
charukaarora
Perfect, Amazing! Amazing When are you going to put this out. Do you have like a timeline in mind.

01:02:01.71
Valerie
I want to put it out before the end of March so I’m kind of still working on I want to put out 3 or 4 to all at once? Yeah and I’ll let you go.

01:02:05.70
charukaarora
E okay, 3 4 lovely amazing! Amazing! Amazing! Yes, please let us know because we would definitely want to share that your for you and make some noise.

01:02:22.73
Valerie
Ah, yes.

01:02:25.17
charukaarora
Um, let’s would you? Okay I have this would you want to do like um, do you want to do all of us to do like an Nft together.

01:02:33.33
Valerie
Like release one at the same time you mean or do one collaborative. We can also collaborate if so there’s also people that collaborate on Nftts So then profit and profit where you basically just created and then you.

01:02:36.57
charukaarora
Probably I don’t know how many people can.

01:02:44.31
charukaarora
Wow Really how does that happen.

01:02:52.34
Valerie
Click the profits with 2 profiles.

01:02:53.98
charukaarora
Oh Wow Yes, let’s do that. Also yeah, maybe we could do that or also for everyone who’s joining. Let’s do that. Let’s do this and let’s also do like I want you know what I want.

01:03:00.75
Valerie
Yeah I will post it.

01:03:11.21
charukaarora
Ah, want accountability I know accountability has always worked for me anyone who’s listening to this episode I’ we just going to put this like crisp in the show notes on how and what steps you need to name take to make in an fd but basically even then a lot of people feel unable like they. Don’t feel like they’ve been able to execute it because we lack accountability so to hold myself Accountable. You are already be like you’re already there but I can hold you accountable and anyone who’s listening like we can be accountable for each other. Um.

01:03:33.78
Valerie
Here.

01:03:49.10
charukaarora
Like I’m going to convert like I’m I’m going to do like a Nfd in one day like let’s have a challenge. Let’s let’s launch one f one and Fd and a day like 1 Nft a one day. Whatever that means and.

01:03:58.64
Valerie
So okay, yes.

01:04:06.10
charukaarora
Can you come up with a hashtag.

01:04:06.10
Valerie
Um.

01:04:12.13
charukaarora
Let me think Okay, yeah Validia and if the art I don’t know I mean I am so bad with high tas.

01:04:13.72
Valerie
It’s a good question if you wanted like an add to heart adds to heart huh.

01:04:27.80
Valerie
A TH and if t at h and if h yes, perfect.

01:04:33.77
charukaarora
Let’s do that n fd with a t edge. Let’s all do that perfect. So we have a hashtag we have so okay, what let’s do what I’m going to let’s also I’m going to document my and Fda journey like.

01:04:48.19
Valerie
Yeah.

01:04:50.23
charukaarora
When I do that now that I had to I have a camera I’m going to make the use of that as well. So and my thoughts and how I feel about it. Um, the Hashtag is an fd with a edge. Um.

01:04:53.73
Valerie
Nice me.

01:05:00.53
Valerie
Yes, I’m gonna write.

01:05:04.48
charukaarora
Let’s all and the challenges we have to launch and an fd in a day and once you do that you are going to once you do that? you’re going to tag Valerie Arts to hearts. You want to tag me to stag us and let us know that you have done this.

01:05:06.98
Valerie
Yeah, ah.

01:05:22.99
charukaarora
Me I mean if a lot of people join us. Let’s do like a page on arts to hearts and list all these and Nfts and let’s do that I think it’ll be so exciting. Yes I think that’ll be very exciting all of us coming together like how I think sometimes just that is the power of people coming together.

01:05:30.35
Valerie
I don’t be rich Paul I’d be really cool here.

01:05:40.49
Valerie
Yeah, yeah, and.

01:05:42.57
charukaarora
Like 1 little action can convert into something bigger. So if we have like even if we have like 30 people 40 people then we launching I mean it’ll be a lot so many people like 30 people who are who take an action I mean um. From this episode launch in an f and like there’s like all of us coming together to towards like some open sea or whatever and once you launch that Nft share your thoughts keep sharing keep tagging Valerie keep tagging me arts two hearts. So we know what you’re doing. And that will encourage each other if I launch I know it’ll inspire you once you do it’ll keep me accountable Valie accountable and once we have a few nft’s together. Let’s put this together as like an an ft arts club on arts two hearts. We list you in an fdas. There’s no cost of course all your. We’ll do the promotions but we really want to do this because I think like we all need to come together something to create some magic.

01:06:43.23
Valerie
Yeah, so awesome and yeah, extra free promotion for your Nft I mean great.

01:06:48.32
charukaarora
Absolutely And also I think the fear of doing something alone versus when you do it with like you know I find no I am not doing this alone and I have a group of an army of women who are going to join me the thrill of doing something is just.

01:06:52.75
Valerie
Here? yeah.

01:07:02.88
Valerie
Are absolutely yeah, absolutely is so right.

01:07:06.66
charukaarora
So much so much better. So okay, let’s do this March will keep March as an Nft month and throughout the March anyone everyone who wants to join in. They can listen to this episode and they can.

01:07:13.79
Valerie
Yeah, yeah.

01:07:24.55
charukaarora
Launch in an fd you can use the hashtag nfd with a and you can tag Valerie you can tag me art’s 2 hearts. We know, share your process ah use an existing artwork take us through your process. Once you have your on an fd share it. We will reshare that we will promote that for you. Once we have enough people we will launch like any nfdr club ad edge Nftd club something and we’ll have that like maybe like an an fd show. What do you say like a show curated via the podcast.

01:07:54.54
Valerie
Yeah, because now there’s so many virtual shows Anyway, like that would exactly? Yeah yeah, exactly so that.

01:07:58.18
charukaarora
Yes, yeah, we do virtual for show every month so we’ll do like free any so this is like a secret project only for podcast listeners. You can get. You can be a part of a virtual show for an fd. You just have to join this challenge of. And fd with it yet Valerie and me and we’ll have Val Valerie host this show for us and let’s do this. Let’s make this happen.

01:08:22.50
Valerie
Yeah, that’s so exciting I Really excited about it I hope.

01:08:29.81
charukaarora
Me to me too and I have to get to go and I then I’ll have to get going and work so we’ll do this. Let’s anyone who’s listening who’s interested just join us. She drop us a message if you have thoughts on how we can do this better. Let’s do this. Let’s do this together. Let us all.

01:08:45.38
Valerie
Yeah.

01:08:49.14
charukaarora
Take 1 step forward by holding each other’s hand cheering for each other and just supporting each other and I think there’s nothing more exciting than that perfect. Thank you Valrie! Thank you so much I I had I’m just so so glad we did this.

01:08:55.83
Valerie
I agree. Yeah.

01:09:04.56
Valerie
Me too at such a great time. Thank you so much for having me.

01:09:08.83
charukaarora
Thank you and I can’t wait to I’m I can’t wait to see your and ft with a T E D Edge mine and everybody elses of amazing.

01:09:16.60
Valerie
Yes I can’t wait for that to kick off I Look forward to seeing everyone’s ease.

01:09:25.63
charukaarora
