This is a curated selection. We publish a selection of open calls from a pool of submissions and editorial research. Only open calls we believe offer meaningful benefits to applicants at different stages of their careers will be published. We email thousands of art practitioners weekly with selected opportunities. Submitting your work for a call for Art, open calls, and art competitions can be tricky and taxing work. We at Arts To Hearts Project have been creating resources and opportunities for Artists for the past two years. We have so far organized over 8 editions of our International Call For Art. But, we don’t want you to ever feel limited in where you want to apply. Hence, every month we bring you a quick round-up of 5 hand-picked opportunities and art competitions for Artists.
1- Arts to Hearts Project

The Arts To Hearts Project is excited to collaborate with selected artists to create the Vol 1 book that will be released in April- May of 2023. Each artist will be featured with four pages dedicated to their work and an interview about their studio practice.

2- 9th ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL PRINTMAKING CONTEST

ON PAPER presents its annual printmaking contest to promote the art of printmaking and the connection between printmakers around the world.

- The SHORTLISTED artists will exhibit in Tinta Invisible (Barcelona, Spain) in July 2023
The contest is open to anyone.ello
Each artist can submit one piece of work on a paper size of 30cm x 40cm. The print size can be any within the size of the paper. The work can be horizontal or vertical. The work must have been made using any traditional printmaking techniques, including screenprinting, lithography, etching, engraving, collagraph, monotype, block printing, woodcut, electro-etching, photo etching, photopolymer, etc. We also encourage artists to use non-toxic techniques. Digital prints (prints made with a printer) are not accepted. However, digital processes can be used to elaborate prints that are traditionally printed.
The work must be relatively new, completed in the last couple of years and not have received a prize before.
3- Aesthetica Art Prize 2023

The Aesthetica Art Prize is an annual award organized by Aesthetica, an international art and culture magazine. The Art Prize is open to works in any genre, and on any theme, however, we are particularly interested in works that reflect upon our ever-changing world. We accept entries from artists at all stages of their careers. We celebrate creativity in all its forms – across multiple media including Painting and Drawing; Video, Installation and Performance; Photography, Digital Art & Installation; Artists’ Film and more.
Works previously exhibited and published elsewhere are accepted.

The competition is open to all artists from around the world.
All artists are required to submit their works as images or videos through a submission form.
If you are a shortlisted artist, you will be asked to supply artwork for the exhibition in York, UK.
4- The Future Generation Art Prize 2023

The Future Generation Art Prize is a biannual global contemporary art prize to discover, recognize and give long-term support to a future generation of artists. Established by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation in 2009, the Prize supported the artistic development and production of new works of over 100 artists in exhibitions at the PinchukArtCentre in Kyiv and as official collateral events at the Venice Biennale in 2011, 2013, 2017 and 2019.
All artists aged 35 or younger from anywhere in the world, working in any medium are invited to apply for the Prize. An outstanding selection committee, appointed by a distinguished international jury, reviews every application and nominates 20 artists for the shortlist.
These artists will be commissioned to create new works that go on display at the PinchukArtCentre in Kyiv. Subsequently, all of them will present their works in the Future Generation Art Prize exhibition at the Venice Biennale.
5- Wildlife Artist of the Year 2023

Entries to the DSWF Wildlife Artist of the Year 2023 competition are open to UK and international artists aged 15 years and above on the closing date. Artists aged between 15 – 19 years at the closing date are entered into the Youth Exclusive category. Entries will open from 12 pm GMT on the 5th of January 2023 and run until 11.59 pm on the 29th of March 2023.
Whether you are a long-term participant, an established artist or an avid amateur, DSWF encourages you to create a work to celebrate nature. Prizes include £10,000 for the overall winner (including a £5,000 conservation donation to a DSWF project of the winner’s choice), £2,000 for the runner-up (including a £1,000 conservation donation to a DSWF project of the winner’s choice) and category prizes of £500 each.
All artists shortlisted by our expert judging panel are invited to exhibit and sell their artworks as part of our annual exhibition which will be returning to the Mall Galleries, London, running from Monday 11th September to Sunday 16th September 2023. 50% of the proceeds from the sales of artworks help us to fund our vital conservation work. DSWF Wildlife Artist of the Year has so far generated more than £1.7 million in sales to help support our ground-based conservation partners across Africa and Asia.
