Calling All Artists: Last Week to Submit to ATH Magazine 15
“Where am I?” is a deeply personal question. Sometimes the answer is a place. Sometimes it is a memory, a feeling, a relationship, a culture, a home, or a moment of change. And sometimes, it is simply where we find ourselves in our creative journey.
That is the idea behind Arts to Hearts Magazine 15, which is now in its final days of submissions. With the deadline approaching, artists have only a little time left to submit their work for the upcoming edition, created around the theme “Where I Am.”
The international call is inviting artists from different backgrounds, disciplines, and stages of their careers to share work that says something about where they are, where they have been, or where they are going. So, if you have been thinking about submitting, this is your reminder to open that studio folder, revisit your archive, and make your selection before the deadline arrives.
The Final Week Is Here
Arts to Hearts Magazine 15 is currently accepting submissions, but the window is closing soon. The official open call lists the submission deadline as October 5, 2026, with an application fee starting at $21. Artists can begin their application, return to their dashboard if needed, and complete their submission before the final deadline. However, incomplete applications cannot be submitted once the call closes.
In other words, this is not the week to leave your final upload until the last few hours. If you already have work that connects with the theme, you do not need to wait for the “perfect” new piece. In fact, ATH specifically encourages artists to look through work they have already created and consider what it says about where they were, what they experienced, or how they saw the world at the time.
The Theme: Where I Am
For Issue 15, artists are being asked to explore one simple but wonderfully open question: Where am I?
The answer can be as literal or as personal as you want it to be. Your work might be about the city you call home, a landscape that has stayed with you, a room that feels familiar, or a country you have left behind. It could also explore something less tangible: belonging, identity, memory, displacement, solitude, community, change, or the place you currently occupy within your own creative practice.
The theme does not require you to literally depict a location. A sense of place can exist in colour, material, architecture, the body, family, nature, culture, memory, or even absence. Your artwork might tell the story of where you are physically, emotionally, culturally, creatively, or imaginatively.
Perhaps you are beginning something new. Perhaps you are returning to something familiar. Perhaps you are somewhere between two versions of yourself. Where I Am leaves space for all of these stories.
A Collaboration Between Arts To Hearts Project And StudioToGallery
Magazine 15 is being created through a collaboration between Arts to Hearts Project and StudioToGallery, bringing together two creative platforms with a shared interest in discovering and supporting artists.
The collaboration is founded by Charuka Arora of Arts to Hearts Project and Sonia Borrell of StudioToGallery. For artists, this means the call brings together perspectives from publishing, curatorial work, collecting, advising, and the wider contemporary art community.
Meet The Curators
Sonia Borrell
Sonia Borrell is an art collector, curator, advisor, lawyer, writer, philanthropist, and entrepreneur working across the international art world.
She is the founder of the Tryson Collection, which has supported and showcased artists across Spain, the UK, China, and the US. Her collection has also been presented at institutions including the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art, Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum, and Museo Novecento.
For Magazine 15, Sonia brings her experience as a collector and curator to the process of discovering artists and looking at the stories behind their work.
Charuka Arora
Charuka Arora is an internationally exhibited artist, creative entrepreneur, and the Founder of Arts to Hearts Project.
Since founding Arts to Hearts Project in 2020, she has built a global platform focused on artists, publishing, education, and creative careers.
As both an artist and editor, Charuka brings first-hand experience of the creative process as well as the professional art world. For Issue 15, she will be part of the selection and editorial process, looking closely at the artists, their practices, and the stories behind their work.
Who Can Submit?
The call is open internationally and welcomes artists working across different creative practices. You do not need a long exhibition history or an impressive list of credentials to apply. Both emerging and established artists can submit, and the focus is ultimately on the work and its connection to the theme.
So if you have ever looked at an open call and thought, “Maybe I am not ready yet,” this could be a good moment to reconsider. You do not need to have everything figured out. You simply need work that has something to say.
What Kind Of Art Can You Submit?
One of the lovely things about this call is how broad the accepted practices are. Artists can submit work across contemporary disciplines including:
- Painting
- Drawing
- Illustration
- Photography
- Sculpture
- Ceramics
- Textile and fibre art
- Printmaking
- Collage
- Mixed media
- Digital art
- Installation
- New media
- Conceptual art
- Other contemporary art practices
Your work can also be figurative, abstract, experimental, symbolic, documentary, or process-driven. There is no particular visual style being requested for the call. What matters is the connection between your work and the idea of Where I Am.
What Can You Submit?
You do not have to create a brand-new artwork specifically for this call. This might actually be the perfect time to go back through your studio. Look through your older paintings. Open that folder of photographs you almost forgot about. Scroll through your digital work. Revisit the pieces that were created during a particular period of your life.
Think about the work that speaks about home, memory, identity, distance, culture, belonging, movement, change, or your own artistic journey. Maybe the artwork you made two years ago says more about where you are today than the piece you finished last week.
You can submit existing work. The application asks you to select the number of artworks you want to submit and provide details including the artwork title, medium, size, year, and a short description, alongside your artist information and profile materials.
If you are submitting multiple pieces, it is worth thinking about how they work together rather than selecting completely unrelated artworks.
What Do Selected Artists Receive?
Magazine 15 will bring together 100 selected artists in an international contemporary art publication. The magazine has previously featured more than 1,500 artists across its editions and is distributed internationally through platforms including Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
The wider Arts to Hearts ecosystem also gives publications an extended life through editorial features, social media, email, interviews, and artist promotion. For artists selected for Issue 15, the opportunity goes beyond simply having an artwork printed in a magazine.
Selected artists are part of a professional publication and editorial project created through the Arts to Hearts Project × StudioToGallery collaboration. The current call also includes a recognition program valued at $10,000+ USD, with further recognition opportunities for selected artists.
How Much Does It Cost To Enter?
The application fee starts at $21, with the amount depending on the number of artworks submitted. The dedicated ATH open-call page lists $21 as the starting application fee.
Before submitting, make sure you have checked your artwork information carefully, including titles, dimensions, mediums, years, descriptions, and image quality.
Give Your Work One More Look

What does this artwork say about where I am?
Maybe it carries something about the place you grew up. Maybe it holds a memory. Maybe it reflects a change you have been going through. Maybe it captures a relationship with your culture, your surroundings, your body, your family, or your community. Or maybe it simply represents where you are as an artist right now.
The connection does not have to be immediately obvious. Sometimes the story behind an artwork is what makes us stop and look again.
