Kelly Corbett

Artist Bio

Nanoose Bay artist Kelly Corbett presents her expression of majestic British Columbia Holding diplomas in both Fine Art (UFV) and Photography Academy, Kelly combines academic training with her natural talent, painting with acrylics. Kelly’s style invites you to take a step outside; a trip through the forest; or an outing by kayak to commune with the natural world.
As an avid outdoorswoman, Kelly draws inspiration from her hiking, kayaking, and camping trips throughout BC. She captures the unique features of stunning wilderness scenes with her camera and uses the images taken as the muse for her paintings.
For the outdoorsy, Kelly’s painting style invites you to recall your adventures and relive the sights and scents of BC’s natural environment. And for those people that may not have the opportunity to get to remote wilderness locations, these paintings offer a glimpse into a world that is inviting and ready for you.

Artist Statement

As a realist painter my motivation is to share my visual experiences. To create paintings that speak both to me and to others about the beauty that exists in British Columbia. My style invites the viewer to recall their own past adventures and relive the sights and scents of BC’s natural environment. Through my artwork I try to bring the outside in, to pay tribute the natural world and remind us how rewarding it can be to take the time to reconnect with nature.

How does the theme ‘Biosphere’ play a role in your work?

I am primarily a landscape artist. The biosphere plays an important role in my work as it is essential to life and the environment I love to depict in my paintings. I am an avid outdoor adventurer and I love exploring and interacting with nature. I get to see some amazing places that not everyone gets to experience which is part of the reason why I especially enjoy sharing my paints with others. It gives the public the opportunity to experience these magical places with me!
